  • Apple lauds own encryption efforts, says hackers are primary iPhone threat

Is it possible to have a federal case involving Apple where the feds aren't automatically the bad guys?  Why on earth are they thinking it's acceptable for them to be able to hack everything we have?  If they want the data so badly, put their tail between their legs, crawl over to the data centers at the NSA and ask them for the data we already know they've stolen from us all.  After all, those two agencies are SUPPOSED to be working together, though we all know they hate each other.  Force their interaction rather than forcing use to give up everything when they already have everything.

  • US AG Lynch says FBI not asking Apple to break into iPhone, simply disable 'password blocker'

I can only hope that Apple isn't pulling any punches with this. This is the biggest fight they've ever been in and will directly impact their future, as well as all users of their technology. This is THE fight they simply can not afford to lose.

  • House committee invites Apple CEO Tim Cook, FBI Director James Comey to discuss encryption

I really think this is Tim's moment to shine.  He's stepping up to the plate for all the people who feel that privacy ought to be more important than government snooping.  I also hope this upsets a lot of people inside Apple and moves them toward a stronger privacy focus with OS X and iOS 10.  Luckily, Apple has the resources to fight this with confidence.  The DoJ and FBI are flat out wrong for trying to force this.  If their investigation hinges solely on a work phone that they didn't bother to destroy, it shows us just how little they have to go on through traditional investigative techniques.  They also haven't bothered to bring the NSA into this fight, and demand that the NSA provide all the data they have on file for those various accounts.  I look forward to seeing Apple's moves on this.

  • Apple ID linked to terrorist's iPhone 5c changed while device was in government hands, Apple says [

If Tim is serious about this, he needs to have all hands on deck, but also needs to bring the public up to speed about why the government is really doing this.  They want to backdoor everyone.  PR needs to not sit on their hands on this one.  It's been far too quiet from Apple when they are being smeared by the govt publicly.  Furthermore, I hope this makes him push for even MORE encryption to make it next to impossible for the government to snoop.

  • US Department of Justice files motion to force Apple to crack terrorist's iPhone

The sooner Apple makes it to where NOONE can crack the encryption, the better.  Government is never one to help in the privacy of any citizen, but will do everything they can to spy on absolutely everyone.

The irony here is that this case throws the bu!!sh!t flag in the face of the NSA who's been quietly telling the world that they have everyone's data already.  If that were literally the case, the FBI could walk over to the NSA and get everything they wanted without the phone at all.  This obviously isn't the case, so the NSA isn't doing what people thought they were.

Apple needs to improve encryption and make it bombproof so that no one, even them, can access anything against some's will.
