  • What happened to Safari Web Eraser -- the controversy, and what it looked like

The idea that Apple removes or renames features to make rumor sites look bad is…absurd. Names change. Features get pulled. Nobody should believe they did this to make Apple Insider or any other rumor publisher look inaccurate, that’s just conspiracy theory.
Agreed, but it lures new trolls to this site, who shut down any interesting technical discourse or discussion like MacRumors did years ago. No wonder comment counts on articles are plundering. The editorial slant on this site shifted a couple of years ago, deciding instead of good discussion to troll infested tit-tat negativity. Not sure where to go these days if you want good technical discussion, the only thing good here these days is Marvin who is one of these best sources of technical information in the world.

  • Man ludicrously blames Apple for his wife catching him communicating with prostitutes

Doesn't seem too uncommon around here, so many on this very forum have the exact same attitude, "it's Apple's fault." They state it every single day, same ones over and over, even in this very thread defending the man. This troll just took his attitude to the courts is the only difference.

  • Our favorite features so far in iOS 18 from Control Center to Genmoji

Emoji are not “features”, much less a flagship feature.  They are way overused.
What a controlling attitude, okay gawd.

  • Apple's core Calendar and Reminders apps can finally talk to each other with iOS 18

I hope that you can turn it off, because that would be completely annoying to have reminders displayed in the calendar along with appointments and events. It just breaks productivity to have the reminders shown in the calendar.
Oh good god man, that's your take from this?

  • Four more states are jumping onto the DOJ's antitrust suit against Apple

Again as others have written, this suit seems to have been written at the behest of Apple’s competitors and not to protect consumers against the things that truly bother us- online criminality such as fake malware apps, cyber crime, excessive tracking, pop-up ads & surveys etc etc.  Apple’s closed garden approach is a consumer choice and for those who don’t want it…there is the android world and admittedly that has its advantage in terms of customization and maybe AI ability.

This suit is analogous to saying Taylor Swift has a monopoly on concerts.

At least they finally are taking on Ticketmaster.  There are real monopolies in the world.
So it is OK to go after other companies but not Apple.
yourlogicalfallacyis.com is a great resource, it's where they sell big boy pants. I suggest a visit.
