  • MacBook Air & MacBook Pro buyer's guide: A Mac portable to fit your budget

    Very excellent article.

I have M2 MacBook Air 15" with 16GB RAM. I just cannot believe how light and cool it runs. I "downgraded" from Intel MacBook Pro 16" (2019) and the difference is day and night. The media creation is much faster on MBA than Intel Pro yet manages to last all day which I couldn't with Intel... draining in just three hours. Intel Pro was so hot as well (one ofthe factors for me as I often use it on my bed and it burns my chest or laps).

I am so happy that Apple moved to Apple Silicon. It truly provides the best experience.

Very jealous, that 15" is one svelte beauty of a machine.

  • Apple admits third-party App Stores in Europe are inevitable

Those using the 3rd party app stores for their products will quickly find out 99.99% of iPhone users will never venture over there to hand out the credit card and personal information to another company. They may well find out the $99 developer kit is no longer $99 for them or their is a per install licensing fee. The really do not know how good they have it now.
It is really easy to get fraudulent charges reversed. You just have to do it in a timely manner as the law specifies and sometimes you can still get it reversed afterwards.
You know what's even easier? Make sure it doesn't happen at all. Fraudulent charges aren't the only risk here, there are more personal details they might get which you can't "easily reverse afterwards."

  • Apple insists 8GB unified memory equals 16GB regular RAM

Nonsense! Any personal computer these days should come with at least 16GB of RAM.
Surface Pro machines base models start with 8GB and they have to run Windows. So strange that people want to eliminate choice, where if you are fine with 8GB that's not okay with some here, very strange. If you want more than 8GB, you're not blocked from buying a machine with more, but hey why not force your wasteful views on others, right? What a weird attitude getting so upset about what works for others, maybe stay in your own lane and worry about yourselves.

  • Apple privately described Android as a 'massive tracking device'

Same presentation calls out Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter, Pinterest and Amazon, but the real question is why these aren't updated and public slides??

One thing I can’t stand is the people that seemingly think Apple should not provide low-end options for the millions of people that only need one monitor and 8gb ram.
Just another vector for negative nellies and juvenile trolls to complain their way to fame and fortune, not that any of them are in any way in the market for any of Apple's products anyway. Utterly ironic as well that Surface Pros and other competitors start their product lines the same way (w/8GB), so you know their whinging is nothing but childish, empty anti-Apple sentiment. Same boring cycle every announcement, leaving us to ignore, block and move on.
