  • Like Apple, Amazon abandons 'skinny' TV bundle plans following network resistance

Seriously, Amazon?  The iPhone 8 and iPhone X are out.  But, the promised port of Amazon Prime Video, which has been out for iPhone and iPad for years - STILL hasn't been made available for the AppleTV?  This was promised SOON back in August, and now we are closing on December - this simple port from iPad to AppleTV shouldn't take your seasoned programmers all that long.

All you need to do, is just let us watch the programs we paid for, on our AppleTV's.  You know, just like your Roku, SLING, Android, PS4, XBOne and FireStick customers have been doing for years.  It's not like we are demanding much - just that you actually do what you promised.

  • Amazon embraces Apple's ARKit, adds virtual product previews to iOS shopping app

Instead of investing tens of thousands of hours on ARKit for Amazon shoppers, which may, or may not result in sales; how about investing a few hundred hours of porting the AppleTV and delivering the long promised Amazon Video for your EXISTING customers, so we can watch what we paid for, on the AppleTV.  I will NOT be buying the inferior FireTV stick, as I have the AppleTV.  So, please get off your lazy butts, and deliver what you have promised for years.

I mean, you missed the July date, the September Apple roll-out, the October ball games, and now it's almost Thanksgiving.

  • Apple sacks iPhone X engineer after daughter posts hands-on video to YouTube

    plankton said:
This product was within days of release and EVERY rumor site in the world has published details weeks and months ago.  Some was undoubtedly leaked by Apple to create a buzz, some was by other NDA violators. So what is Apple to do? Cease all relations with sites like Daring Fireball, Rene Ritchie at iMore—who undoubtedly has an internal leaker violating NDA but gets invited to every press event nevertheless—and the rest of the enablers?
It's not the firing that gets me, it's the Apple hypocrisy.
The engineer was a fool to let his stupid daughter do what she did, but have a little empathy. There was nothing in the YouTube video millions of people did not already know.
A severe scolding and a pay downgrade would have been appropriate but firing is a step too far IMO.

Welcome to life.  Perhaps someday when you have a job, perhaps you MAY rise in position high enough to be trusted enough to sign an NDA.  Then you will be trusted to handle company confidential material like this fool was.  If you screw up, being fired is the MILDEST consequence you can hope for.  Apple could access financial damages from this early release and that could be millions; and guess WHO IS RESPONSIBLE.  In the real world, there are consequences.   Unlike Mom’s basement; the real world will follow through.

Being fired was being let off EASY.

  • How to use and train Apple's Siri for Messages, Calendar, and iTunes Music on your iPhone

I have some playlist with asterisks in them, how would I get Siri to play those?
    Are you serious?
Yes, I have one named 4* for "Four Stars"

May I suggest you call your Playlist "Four Stars" and skip the asterisk crap?

For example, I have playlists called "Three Stars or more", and "Top Rated".  Siri doesn't pronounce the Asterisk, it's a "wild card" symbol.

  • Microsoft pulls plug on Windows 10 Mobile, says userbase too small to support apps

    When is the funeral?
That was the part I remember the most during their "Release", was the "Funeral Parade".  The sheer arrogance of MSFT, they arrive to the market 3+ years late, without any new features, and then stage a funeral on how they are going to kill Apple.  Then they released a Lumia 1020 with 41 MP camera, when the tech clearly didn't support that level of technology.  No cut and paste, when every competitor already had it.

How many times have they done this same dance?  Surface 1, Surface 2, Surface RT, Kin1 and Kin2, Zune, Windows phones - all cancelled without support, leaving their user base suck with an unsupported platform.  You would think that people would catch on eventually.
