iOS 12.1 beta points to 4K external display support on new iPad Pros
I really think that the differentiation between the iPad and iPad Pro will be that the latter uses USB-C and Apple may also start to head into the docking station direction for that. You could then connect various USB peripherals, 4K display, networking, etc, I think the real question then becomes if Apple will support a mouse interface for iOS. I don’t see why they couldn’t and just treat it as a virtual touch. Of course the other “killer feature” is that the external screen would have to not just mirror the display, but allow a second window. Based on changes I’ve seen in that area, I think it’s only a matter of time. -
Nearly all mention of AirPower wiped from Apple's website, suggests further delays or aban...
I still don’t quite understand the allure of wireless charging. My wife has a wireless charger and I can’t tell you how many times her iPhone X doesn’t charge at night because it’s not on the charger just right. You can’t charge and use it at the same time and it’s slow.
Apple probably identified these issues too and found that the tech isn’t worth it. I think a better idea would be to make a mat that could hold a few devices (AirPods, Apple Watch, iPhone) and use magnets to align those devices in place on the mat and then use standard wireless charging. That would make aligning the chargers easier and also give the use a nice empty space in their life for another Apple product -
Apple inadvertently leaks images of new 'iPhone XS'
calisurfboy said:I thought it was iPhone ex, not 10. The naming is even worst knowing they just skipped 9 and have a no-number, an 8, and a 10 out. Whoever designed this layout needs to be flogged. -

The Touch Bar on the MacBook Pro is well implemented, but serves no useful purpose
OK I’m going to be the contrarian... it does come in handy at times. For instance...
1) When plugging in an external screen, it immediately gives you an opportunity to choose the mode for that screen (mirror or extend) without needing to find the display preferences.
2) I can easily start and control a video without moving the mouse on an external display that causes UI to appear. This is useful when using the Mac to play videos to a live audience.
3) Starting and controlling keynote presentations during live use.
4) Adjusting audio levels of video/audio live without any screen UI and fluidly.
