There's got to be some reason why not just Apple, but other manufacturers are on the outs with Qualcomm.  Is this monies that Qualcomm is claiming over FRAND IP for cellular connectivity? Are Qualcomm products being used in these products any longer, or are they trying to still milk royalties from devices that have less and less of their IP in them?  They state that they have been under the same contract with Apple for over a decade... technology changes. Perhaps your patents are no longer that valuable as a proportion of the product?

IMO, the Touch Bar is deader than dead. Pros rejected the new MacBook Pros and the Touch Bar didn't help their cause.

I'm not sure about your position on this. The TouchBar is nice, but I'd argue that most pros don't use one because they use an external keyboard and mouse when at a desk.

Freaking Samsung! First Intel now this. Apple needs to start their own vertical integration and own more of the manufacturing process for critical components. Apple needs to switch over to their own processors for a MacBook (not necessarily a pro model) and buy Sharp or LG or something for displays. Or make their own manufacturing plant.
