  • Apple diverting worker shuttles because of smashed windows

Why do people have to be stupid and damage someone else's property? Why can't people just leave shit alone that isn't theirs?
Because they essentially encouraged to do so by the constant barrage of class warfare propaganda spread by Democrat socialists. They are told that its unfair that these high paid, highly skilled workers get nice things but are the cause of their pain. They are told that theryt are oppressed by the wealthy who got their wealth on their backs. They are told they are entitled to all the perks of education and work without actually having to do any of it. They are told those highly skilled and highly paid tech workers are living on the Elysium space station while they suffer along with Matt Damon on Earth. Class envy, jealousy, and the sense of entitlement will be the death of democracy and the end of prosperous economy.
Whoa!  You forgot the "sarcasm" tag on your post, right?  Or you've got it upside down?

It's not "Democrat socialists" (whoever they are) that "constantly barrage" the "class warfare" views you list.  "Class jealousy" as you describe it, comes from the bottom-up (think trump) and is propagandized by right wing advocates.
Democrats - for all their liberal, artsy, Hollywood, elite faults - just seem to want everyone to be treated equally and get a break.

Or maybe you were just making a bad joke ;-(

  • Apple Park office chairs cost nearly $1,200 apiece, handpicked by designer Jony Ive

couldn't you instead ask the Apple Board to pay us Brits a great deal more tax?
You’re free to give your entire income in taxes if it bothers you so much. You’ve no right to say what someone else pays in tax. You lost your colonies over that; I would think you’d learn a lesson by now.
Testy, testy, TS. The phrase "You've no right . . ." is the last resort for someone with no better idea.  A deep breath might be worthwhile - he's clearly a Brit and it was a sarcasm & a joke ;-)

  • Why Apple opposes the FCC's repeal of net neutrality

Apple has major interest in the issue, Apple Music, AppleTV, FaceTime and iMessage.

But no matter what, it is a great cause to fight.
Same thing apply to Google, YouTube, Facebook or any other steaming service.

Streaming services are exactly why net nuetrality had to be undone.  The services have a dramatically negatve impact on other users of the internet.   Network management requires the ability to throttle bad players.

Apple talks about quality of service but does little to assure that its services prevent network congestion.  That is a problem.
OK, wizard69, I need a major information update here.

I thought that neutrality meant that all bits are equal.  You seem to be saying that there is already some sort of "management", or differential throttling going on whereby if  someone (a corporation?) dumps many billion bits on the web (as a stream) they get some sort of priority over my few email bits.  Like I say, I thought all internet bits were equal end-to-end and that streaming was handled by software at either end to ensure, say,  a coherent movie presentation.

    I need enlightenment ;-)

  • All 2018 iPhones likely to adopt Face ID biometrics, TrueDepth camera if consumer response...

Ooops!  Sorry to all "the experts" that I've offended with my thoughts on this topic.

    I'm sure you are right.

See you on the way down ;-)

My problem with FaceID is that it further degrades our individual privacy and makes us more vulnerable to both over-officious government and predatory marketing.

TouchID is my physical finger on this phone.  FaceID is my face on a potentially global database.  Coming from the UK, one of the most surveilled societies in the western world, I find this worrying.

I'm not interested in being reduced to a target for near-field / face-recognition ads or constant surveilance.

An old fart?  For sure - I actually like being an individual.
Privacy and individuality are largely a thing of the past. "Social" media / tech hv brought on a paradigm so shift so quickly and so thoroughly, most people have yet to comprehend that it's happened.
    So true.  Check out:

We are the wrong species.  250,000 year old, hunter-gatherer brains, grappling with nuclear technology & always-on, instant communications.  It must be clear that we don't see to be able to handle this complexity ;-(
