  • Adult content filters for iPhone and iPad required under Utah bill

Just let’s ban all smartphone devices and computers for minors. The violation (use of such a diver by a minor) should be punished by life sentence in prison of one of the parents. Repeated violation - death penalty. And the parents will start caring about their children.
Bonus of this law: Revival of Nokia and Kodak!

  • EU winding down Apple Music antitrust investigation, charges expected

cropr said: A company like Spotify is paying for a secure payment system around 2% for credit cards transactions and 0.5% for debit cards transactions.  The marginal cost for a global software distribution center for its iOS app is about zero, Spotify has already set up a secured distribution center for the Windows, Linux and Mac versions of its app.  Comparing this to the 15% to 30% Apple is charging, I cannot call this a small price.
As many people have explained before, the App Store isn't just providing a payment system or a distribution system. Apple created the OS and the hardware too. They created the tools for developers to create the apps with. They're not a middleman like a credit card company or an internet host. Trying to use those kinds of comparisons is disingenuous.
Indeed, the developers are paying for the hardware and the tools at market prices, so your point is totally irrelevant in this discussion
It seems like you misunderstood his point.

  • Facebook blocks news sites, charities, government pages in Australia

    Do I miss something?
Facebook let share some news content. When the government wanted the Facebook to pay for it, Facebook switch this content from its service.
So that it won't pay for it.
Now people complain the Facebook did something wrong.

I don't get it. Why are people against Facebook in this case? That's the government who pushed Facebook to that move.

Disclaimer: I am usually against Facebook and think they are discussing in their behaviour in many cases, including there attacks on Apple regarding privacy features.
But in this case I am frustrated with the politicians and people who want something from the Facebook and then blame it for their own actions.

  • Apple Maps gets crowdsourced accident, speed check and hazard warnings in iOS 14.5 beta

I would prefer no reporting feature for Speed Check. Because then people knowing where speed checks are can avoid them and speed at other sections of the road. This would cause more accidents on those parts of the road.
