  • Apple in talks to buy streaming rights to upcoming James Bond film 'No Time to Die'

“To bring the movie Exclusively to Apple TV+“ ...   does anybody see a problem with this?  Can you say monopolistic ?    This is bad for consumers.  Really would prefer to see Bond in the theater first where it belongs.  If it must be streamed it should be available to multiple services.   I don’t have Apple TV or TV+ or whatever they call it these days.
This is how literally every single TV and movie production works. Netflix has a mountain of exclusives. So does Prime Video. We can argue the toss over whether this entire business model should exist, and who knows maybe there’s a case to say that Apple shouldn’t be allowed to do exactly what Netflix and Amazon do (a big maybe in my opinion)  but that’s a way bigger issue than a single Bond movie.

And if you’d really like to see Bond in the theatre first, you’re not alone. But, y’know, global pandemic...
I prefer to watch movies at home. In my pijamas.

Cabled charging is faster and more efficient, the latter being a definite issue when traveling and relying on finite power packs. Losing 50% of your available power to wireless charging overhead is just not attractive.

As that’s a physics issue I’m hoping cabled charging stays around for a long time.  That said overall MagSafe is a definite plus. The accessory possibilities are intriguing.
How did you get to 50%?

Love the fact that Apple remove stuff from the package that’s very useful and make the omission a feature. Vapourware if ever it existed
Really?  How useful?  You really don't already have 17 each of those chargers and headphones?

And if you're one of the 6 people on earth who really don't, then what about the rest of us who do?  Why do I want to pay for those (plus the extra costs for shipping the larger boxes, and the cost to the environment, etc -- all real things not just BS marketing)... AGAIN?
That's a bit rude. Some people don't own 17. Most don't. And when I give an old iDevice away, I give away the USB charger, so I think I have only ONE charger in my house, and one headphone. Who on earth would give away an iDevice without giving away the charger/headphone too?
You pass on used headphones?  Gross.
Who said I used my headphones? I don't. Never assume.
So did you just prove the point that it’s better not to include the headphones in the first place?

  • Coalition for App Fairness unites developers to fight Apple's App Store fees and policies

Epic and Spotify are among founders. I see...

I read those 10 points of their vision of the app store future. Stupid, vague, mostly absolutely not relevant to Apple’s App Store. Epic is just trying another angle to get to those millions they all losing in profits, while paying for Apple’s services.

Will the à la carte pricing be an option? Or does everyone get moved to Apple One?
Each service is still available separately.
