It was co-designed by Teenage Engineering, I know of some of their music gear.

Knowing that, I suppose that the design makes sense, since it looks like something that they would've designed, including the color choice.

The great thing about it is that I do not have to install a single game onto my machine. My entire purchased library is basically in the cloud and ready to be played whenever I feel like it. I can even play Windows only games, without having to hassle with bootcamp or Windows or any of that stuff.

My thoughts were not related to Tim Cook at all, even though it is common knowledge that he is gay.

My thoughts were related to Apple and their prior history with such events, such as them marching in the gay pride event.

Apple even makes and sells pride edition watchbands, which is a multi-colored rainbow type band. One of the choices for a face for my Apple Watch is the pride face, which is multi-colored rainbow lines.

You're right about that. It is the same as the old Apple logo.
