  • Analyst says Apple may forego Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter for new iPhones

No I will not wear those "earings" because I do not like to stuff my ears with some devices plus they leak sound like sieve. I prefer quality over ear stuff - not fashinable gadgets.
Spoken with the true ignorance of one who has not used AirPods. "But Apple is just fashionable form over function!"
Really? I wouldn't be calling out someone for "true ignorance" if you think AirPods have either the right sound profile or quality for folks on the upper end of "audiophile"... but fanboys will be fanboys

  • Apple stock taking a beating on analyst note predicting soft summer iPhone X demand

WOW, they get paid to wrongly predict Apple. Isn’t that manipulations or fake news? If I lost millions because of thier rumors can we file a case of slander??
what's slanderous about their statements... the definition of slander isn't bad news that costs me cash because I'm blinded by AAPL as a fanboy and/or only want my stock to go up.

Man I remember the downslide in the post-Scully days and AAPL investors had a lot more rationality... but we live in a post-fact world now

  • Apple's Siri history was plagued by infighting, mistakes and developer alienation, report ...

    Alexa still sucks.
And people still use it for useless things like timers only.
So I would say Siri is doing just fine.
What? Siri is by far the furthest behind in major voice assistants (which clearly have a future)... if you want to compare it to something in order to keep one's head buried in the sand then I'd use Samsung's Bixby... that'll make Siri look good... which I guess you need to keep whistling regardless of reality when your retirement future depends on AAPL share price.

I don't buy this story. Apple is trying to force you to buy to a new iPhone, each time it releases new one. I's called planned obsolescence.
Maybe it was purposeful unplanned obsolescence.    Either Way looks real bad.   I expect there to be an FEATURE/EDITORIAL this weekend from DED saying what apple did was the absolute best thing and of course better than android especially Samsung.
Yes, what Apple did was reasonable - extend the lifespan of a device with an expired, used up battery.

only haters have a problem with it.
Fanbois really do have their head in the sand... the engineering solution was reasonable... not indicating it (I was one with issues and the Genuis Bar told me the device/battery was fine... it's due to me being a iOS dev :/)... they should have been transparent on this issue... however, transparency isn't in their DNA... secrecy and covering up is (hell even back to the days of the stuck RW arms on hard drives on the Mac back in the 80's) On this one they need to be spanked... and a good price hit on the stock so fanbois might realize they need to hold the company they have a share in into account rather than treating it like the Church.

  • Apple's next NeXT: how buying Beats launched a sneak attack on the future of sound

From the article: "Beats' popular youth-oriented bran -..." Indeed "youth bran"... what comes out is crap, but youth like the gansta laxative... from an audio perspective... Not to mention the PowerBeats that I used for the gym... went through 8 pairs in less than a year (covered by warranty, but eventually they just gave my money back)
