Fanhouse protests Apple's 30% commission on payments to creators
morebeer said:30% is criminal. Surprised they can get away with that. Even eBay only takes about 12% of the sale which includes the payment processing fees. And if you're a high-volume seller, its less. 30%???? That's like mafia protection money.
And who is to say the Farmhouse's 10% commission is fair? The content creator sells whatever it is for $10,000 and only gets $9,000? That $1,000 could be the difference between life and death. -
Former Apple CDO Jony Ive helped design the 24-inch iMac

Likely based on market research where a majority of average consumers, which is the target of these new iMacs, have not needed that many USB ports. Why waste parts when they won't be used? And for those that need more, a USB hub adds more ports very easily. -
Google will begin automatically enrolling users in two-step verification
Kudos to you folks who steadfastly refuse to secure your accounts. Attackers usually go after "low-hanging fruit." Might as well be you. Thanks.
For those of you who believe that it should not be mandatory to require a mobile device for anything on the web, you should be pleased to learn that Google agrees with you. You do not need a mobile device to set up multi factor authentication. The AI article doesn't delve into it, but the MFA/two-step options not requiring a mobile phone include phone calls (doesn't have to be mobile!), a security key like a Yubikey, or even a printable sheet of one-time passcodes. If you do have a mobile device, you can use SMS messages (not ideal) or an authenticator app for MFA. -

VMWare Fusion 12 debuts with macOS Big Sur support, more

We'll see what we get with the VMWare free personal version but I am interested. That will have to hurt Parallels as the free VMWare version should be quite good for many home users.
