Had hoped to get a magic track pad after sale for my 24" iMac but seems a shame to ruin the aesthetic with silver when the rest if blue.

Am surprised after all the hate that having recently downloaded the public beta how much I like the new Safari. Muscle memory occasionally kicks in but in the main have adjusted very quickly.

Well, to be fair, the desktop magic keyboards have had white keys for years. Agree they show the dirt more than the MacBooks but they’re easily cleaned. 

Seems to me more probable, given the iMac design language, that the outer shell of a new MacBook would be the darker shade, with the keyboard surround the pastel colour next to the off white bezel.

Agreed. And given Apple specifically market them for use with bikes they are at least implying that use case. After all, who 'forgets' their bike. Stolen, however... I have a specialist push bike and I'd certainly like one of these to hide in it should it get stolen. Then again, I think the diameter slightly too wide to place in any of its tubes. That's the other thing, if you attach it to a bag or handbag in a way that is easily located or on one of the accompanying straps, someone can just remove it.
