    i thought you could add 512 in so-dimm...am i wrong?? i but to order the 512 so-dimm soon so it is here when my iMac arrives....should i wait?? order 256?? or get the 512??? would really prefer 768 to 512 total in my new iMac

    I thought it strange that Apple advertised tje iMac as hacing ao 1 GB limit and then even as a BTO doesn;'t offer anything higher than 768. It smacks of foul play to me. Flase advertising at least. I like my RAM and I like it big. Many. Whatever

    SO-DIMM. I think 512 is the max, so I would go pop a 512 chip in the lower memory bay for a total of 768 megs. A 512 so-dimmm is avalable for about 180 US dollars.

    I don't know peresonally I have not seen the new iBook. But I do know that 1024 X 768 works just fine on my 13.8 inch viewable iMac screen.
