Mine runs 50-55 C at idle in a warm (80 F) room, lower in a cool room. Is your processor set to "Automatic" or "Highest"? The "Highest" setting will raise the idle temperature noticeably. -

I know of post production houses that perform heavy rendering day and night. I would only have quad cores if I needed to do some serious work. If they sat idle most of the time then its a waste of money.
