    It was a bestseller because there wasn't a problem. I still have an iPhone 4, waiting for the next model, and haven't had a single problem...ever...period.

    My 21.5" iMac does this. I already had the LCD panel replaced once. Now the new panel is doing it, AND it developed a dead pixel within a few months of replacement. 


     


    I have to get it back to the Apple Store, I guess. Good thing for Apple Care.

    As a long time apple client / user I'm embarrassed for anyone that would even consider paying $2200 for a 15" MBP that only has a 250gb hdd & can't be easily upgraded. Then to read a fanboy response that bugs are expected just re-enforces how people will plain lie to themselves to maintain the illusion that the purchase was worthwhile.

    Just another in a growing list of 'sub-standard" quality control by Apple, & as long a people continue to make excuses for Apple it's only going to get worse.

    He does make one valid point in there though regarding the "bugs are expected" statement. This is utter crap! Why should you "expect" bugs on a product of this quality? 


     


    We are not beta testers and we do not get discounts to test products for Apple so there should be no expectation of "bugs" in their products.

    No, after being stuck taking 2 days to get home, I couldn't sleep & thought I see what's up at 'AppleInsider" & couldn't help but express my thoughts after reading some of the posts.

    Please show me where you can buy a 15" laptop under 5 pounds with retina display and 250 GB SSD for less.

    Of course, if you're a cheapskate, there's always the older MBP or MBA.

    Because if someone isn't lacking in all usable knowledge and common sense, they'd know that first generation products have problems. Period.

     Yes, I believe I'm accurate in saying that there are more Apple-haters posting on Apple forums then there are Microsoft-haters posting on Microsoft forums. This implies that Apple people are more content with the products they buy. :)

    I’m not sure this is “RetinaGate” (as one poster puts it) but something more to do with a software/hardware interaction.  I am getting something like this on a late 2006, 24 inch iMac at OS X 10.7.4.


     


    When the machine sleeps and I move the mouse to wake it up, I initially get cursor-sized squares on the screen (like it is not refreshing the display correctly) until it finally wakes up.  See the pic . . .

    You are entitled to your opinion but I disagree as like i said before, we are not beta testers for Apple or any other company. However, if Apple wanted to give me new product to test for them for bug/issues I'd be quite happy to do that :)


     


    When I'm paying full price for something I expect it to work.

    Is the Retina shipping delay an issue with high demand or more of an issue of Retina Display Production Yield. I think the later.
