It looks stunning, but I like apple.com's pictures. They're deliberately flattering at the company's own website. I remember looking at an iMac on TechTV and the lighting made it look like shit.
I saw one in person today. I think they look fabulous. I have no idea what everybody is complaining about. Those who think the new tower is ugly need to go to a large store like Frys (which is where I got to look at this one) and walk through the PC aisles. If you are not struck blind, you will then know exactly what is ugly in the computer world and what is not.

Not as elegant as the QS (which was the most beautiful tower case ever made) but it's still head and shoulders above anything else on the market. A QS stlye face (over the new port/drive locations) would make it perfect.
Impressive, when you consider the newly refined expansion.
I will never understand those who call for an El-Capitan replacement. It's the perfect tower case, nothing of similar size comes close for expansion, and nothing at all comes close for ease and beauty.
I for one...do like the new case. Alot. Not enough to buy (...don't get me started on the specs... )
I think Matsu may have a point here. About the 'silver' plate having QS styling...it may blend in a little better if it had QS 'grey silver' instead. The 'chrome aluminium' jarrs just a tad.
But I do like the vents and the speaker at the top.
Hey. It's different and like someone above said...go to PC World and get an insight into 'ugly'.
This 'new' 'power'Mac design won't be to everyone's tastes. But. It IS different. And for access and functionality? This tower case is still the one to beat!
I like the style equally to my Quicksilver tower. It looks kinda cool all "chromed" out. Also we kind of saw it coming when the new Cinema Displays came out. The two look so damn good together! Apple should change all of the displays logo to chrome now that the new towers are out.
Oh, no, Matsu, I must disagree! I like Mirrored-Door G4's better than Quicksilver G4's! Many of my PC friends have commented on the "Niceness" of the new model.

I agree -- I never much liked the plain front panel of the QuickSilver. The new one promises to be much more interesting.
One thing is for sure though, the look of the machine is extremely subjective and no design will ever please everybody.
..so , what ARE the 4 holes for ??

Speed Holes. They must of been watching the simpsons to come up with the idea for Speed Holes.. no, they are vents...
anywhoo... I hope the mirror is good enough so it can reflect my picture in it.to tell when my eyes have had enough looking at the computer screen.!
I bet if you rip out the plate behind the 'speed holes' you'll find they make excellent vents, combined with the bullet holes in the back and that 7 pound brick of a heat sink you've got a case that will cool a helluva lot more than dual g4's.
If there is a plate behind the "vents" I wouldnt go taking it out. You would modify the air flow dynamics through the tower and possibly cook something

Go Apple go (and get me some worthy internals)
