  • USB-C on iPhone 15 might still require MFi certified cables

I don't think Apple or any company is allowed to change or use USB-C interfaces differently other than what it's already specified for their purposes. To deviate that would would probably threaten Apple's liability. Imagine a class action lawsuit against Apple for deceiving consumers to think they're getting the standard USB-C slot only to find out that cable has to be specific.

  • Apple considering 2025 debut of touchscreen MacBook Pro

It's much needed, people keep touching the displays nowadays.

  • Apple halts update to HomeKit's new Home architecture

So glad I don't have issues but I got plenty of complaints about Apple's inferior implementation of smart home automation.

  • Apple scales back plans for 'Extreme' Apple Silicon Mac Pro

It could be for iMac Pro, not Mac Pro yet.

Also, remember that we had COVID pandemic shutdown causing a significant turnover with employees in many tech companies during that time - the effects of shutdowns are often not felt until a couple of years later. And now we're already seeing the effects.

Another consideration is that we have reduced our dependence on China and that means the age of cheap and quick consumerism is fading.

Also, why do we really need Apple computers for high end computing workstations which often have only a specific purpose? It just makes no economic sense. If consumers need 512GB of RAM, then they would just use a customized PC and that's gonna work just fine - pretty sure for every Mac app built for that, there is also a Windows app. It's not like they cannot do that. They can. They're called pros for a reason.

  • Some Apple HomeKit setups are breaking after iOS 16.2 update

HomeKit is sorely behind on many features that should be included.

First, they need to have a clear way for users to access to logs. There is none.

Second, they need to visually present the user what is expected with an automation. There's none.

Third, they need to provide "Accessories" in sidebar which they don't. The accessories are hidden in "Home Settings" which make no sense at all.

Fourth, when they need to rebuild HomeKit network, they need to have a "log" of all accessories. There's none.
