  • Clipboard snooping still rife across many popular iOS apps

There should be severe penalties for things like clipboard snooping. Maybe they should be permanently banned, or at the very least immediately blocked from the store until they fix it, and their cut of App Store proceeds permanently reduced (e.g. Apple takes 60% instead of 30%, and the offenders can accept it or leave). And public shaming, of course.
Lol. Severe penalties for things that are allowed and have legitimate use? Right. This is why the little kids aren't allowed to make policy.

    Not Maybe.

I agree. There's really no reason for an app to need access to the clipboard until the user decides to paste the contents (just as is done with drag&drop). Maybe Apple determined that there's very little chance that someone would copy and paste sensitive information from app to app?

It seems to me that it would be trivial to add a timed lock to the clipboard giving the app access to the clipboard after the user invokes a paste, and then locking read access after so many seconds.
That doesn't seem logical. A user could easily copy sensitive information in one app, paste it, and then seconds later move on a totally different app that reads the clipboard without any user interaction.

And yeah, Universal Copy and Paste between iOS and macOS devices already work this way...the synced clipboard contents expire after some time. In fact I've found that the original clipboard contents come back after the expiration, which is also a bit strange.

Is Samsung totally incapable of having an original thought of their own?
On the contrary, I think this and other things they've done show that they do have original ideas.....so original that absolutely no one else in the world wants what they are spending millions to develop and produce.

No one ever asked for screens that wrap around edges. No one ever asked for foldable screens.

  • Production of Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro has supposedly begun

I'm buying this immediately, but I have a lot of reservations:

    1. The only reason this is going to start at $2,999 or higher is because Apple is going to pull the same crap with this model as they did with the new Mac Pro and simply not offer a lower-spec model at launch. It will start with a high amount of storage and RAM (which Pro customers usually BTO anyway). Then after a year, I expect we'll see this model replace the 15" MBP with a lower-spec entry model.

    2. This pisses me off because this means that after 3 years of an unusable keyboard, the first model to carry their solution to that problem will be the most expensive model. And this will be the only Apple laptop with a worthwhile keyboard for the next several months. That means every single MacBook customer will need to seriously consider (and many will bite) this very expensive model for the keyboard alone.

It just bothers me that Apple would do this, and it bothers me even more that I'm going to support this decision...because I'm in need of the biggest laptop they can offer (like, yesterday), and refuse to buy another one with the butterfly keyboard.

  • 'iPhone SE 2' with A13 will cost $399 says Ming-Chi Kuo

It isn’t an SE if it is iPhone 8 sized. That would b an iPhone 8c.
    Wrong.

The SE is about its price point. It has absolutely nothing to do with size. This is a delusion harbored by SE fanatics.
