Actually, I was just checking to see if you've continued reading my posts as opposed to practicising what you preach and have me on your ignore list.

So now you can see that actually I have bested you!

    May I suggest for you:

While it's a bit startling to us non-Americans, it's really standard procedure down there. In New York there are flags on the sides of buildings many stories high. Scary at best, but mostly just distasteful.

Well that is so nice...you don't ever have to come here and you don't ever have to buy anything that is from distasteful America!! But if you are here then why would you want to live here so just leave...... after all we are such a distasteful America!!!!

Sorry i am as patriotic as they come! I have family that has DIED defending this country!!

If you don't like it leave! Don't buy American products like Apple or Microsoft.......They are so distasteful to you!

microsoft has a new cloud computer center, with 40 something employees, three of which are microsoft employees. you can imagine who the rest of their employees are. that's how much they love america. i don't remember where the link is, you can google it.

do you think the flags are for the love of the us? come on don't be so naive...

He is on my ignore list, but as you know the post is just minimized, not completely removed. I?ve opened his before by accident, but this last time was intentional. It?s slow right now so I had a minute free slap him around a bit. I know I shouldn?t be picking on the mental challenged but he makes it so easy.

No you're just tired- time to light you Kool pipe again. I post many a positive thing regarding Apple- you simply edit those out. Unfortunately the truth sometimes hurts.

It?s questionable if Apple ever seriously courted them since Verizon would require a wonky CDMA phone. There is reason to believe it was done to scare AT&T into agreeing to Apple?s demands. It?s a viable tactic.

When you consider what Apple got out of the AT&T deal it?s surprising that anyone agreed to their terms with no experience in the cell phone market. I recall more than few cellular vendors, other tech vendors and pundits stating how Apple was destined to fail in this entrenched, well developed market.

I don't care...I don't care how many different flags they had! So now how many different countries does Apple sell their products to? So now Microsoft should be condemned for their hiring practices?? Dude wake up! Do you know how many Technology jobs are going Offshore?

BUT when you compare America to Nazi Germany most Americans are going to get mad!

    That was uncalled for!!!

With HP with the most marketshare of 25%, Apple would have over 60% of all PC revenue while Windows would still have nearly 75% of the OS market. Apple would be the several fold wealthier than they are now. It?s just not going to happen unless Apple changes there business model. Do that seem likely to you?

    2) You act as if Apple can?t get more OS marketshare form some mythical inability to license there OS, when they have clearly chosen not to as they are a PC company. Dell, HP and others wish they could have a viable OS. They tried to move Linux as an alternative to Windows. They failed. Maybe Google?s ChromeOS will help those PC makers them on the cheap end, but doubtful.

    3) Check out MS and Apple?s market cap. MS can?t buy squat at Apple, nor would such a thing be allowed if it were possible. I think that Apple has a lot more cash on hand, too. MS and Apple could by Dell, though you have to understand that as soon as such an deal was rumoured Dell?s stock would skyrocket making it even more expensive. Oh yeah, there is a high probability that Apple?s market cap will exceed MS? within two years based on current quarterly and trends. How ?bout them Apples?

I fully understand Apple is a hardware company the problem is Apple doesn't understand and that seeing most of their attack ads are pointed at MS which is a software company. Shouldn't they get geared towards HP or Dell?

Apple can't get more market share. Decades have proven that fact time and time again. In fact it was here in AI that stated 85% of all Apple users also have Windows system. The fact remains this is a Windows world and people need Windows to get real work done.

A few good quarters for Apple isnt exactly a trend. All it takes is one good health scare for SJ and your stock will be down to 83 dollars a share again. Apple stock has rebounded but that doesn't mean it can't go back down. I believe when it was that level before people were saying it was going to 250 and then 500. Instead it went to the mid 80's. I wouldn't go counting your Apples just yet.

No its the fact that Verizon is big enough where they told Apple to take their demands and stick them up their a$$. ATT caved because they wanted to try and catch Verizon. Which of course hasn't worked.

So ATT and the iPhone are in the right place, second behind Verizon and RIM, where they will stay.

it's not a shock really. XP is way dated and Vista was crap. of course folks want to go for Win 7 when all the major reviewers are confirming it is a major improvement. and I for one am happy about that, cause winning isn't as much fun when the other side totally blows (it's too easy)

really? then why did the stock price go up $15-20 in 3 days with the products being released via a website update and a few videos, known of which show even a glimpse of Jobs.

could it be because of the products.

AppleCare rarely covers the cost of what you get in repairs, just like the $99 for one to one doesn't cover the cost of all the time you can be there. especially now that they dropped the once a week rule. i mean even if those kids are getting minimum wage, that's like $9 here in Cali. so your membership is 11 hours of one persons time.

so where's the rest of the money coming from. it's that Apple Tax that some folks talk about. it pays for that staff time, for the cost of those parts, the overnight shipping two ways when it has to go to a service center, etc.

they don't have to do any of that. almost every area has a no loitering rule and they can legally use that to boot out anyone hanging around for ages. not to mention that they are a private business and can refuse service to anyone they wish. between that, it doesn't matter what someone is doing on the computer.

this is actually the one thing they have done that Apple will hopefully copy in some form. Cause those screens could actually be more 'green' than the plastic banners that Apple puts up all the time (and changes at least once a quarter).

moving to some kind of embedded screen similar to what's up behind the genius bars would actually let them change that stuff more often and eliminate more trash.

although I thought I heard something about them using biodegrading plastic now so that's better

i agree about the snobby feeling at times. my other issue is the belief that what the small group here wants is what Apple MUST do or they are stupid. Apple isn't going to follow the crowd or give into any one group unless it fits what they want. period. but some folks just won't get over that issue.

No, Apple has 90% of retail computers over $1000. Which excludes pretty much whole business, government/education/army/... buyers. I'm not even sure if on-line purchases are included in that retail study..?
