So when the iPad was not completely sold out on launch day they said iPad was doomed. But when is was sold out during the first week it is Apple screwing their customers?! And worst, when Apple says they can't keep up with demand and they need to delay international launch it is we "demand" explanation!! Here is the explanation.. not enough iPads. Even an idiot can understand that

only because it hasn't been approved by the Israeli equivalent of the FCC.

they did the same with the iphone.

According to the AP, a resolution to the problem is expected by the time the iPad gets its international launch . In the meantime, 10 iPads have already been confiscated, with the owners given the choice between paying a daily storage fee or shipping the device back home on their own dime.

"If you operate equipment in a frequency band which is different from the others that operate on that frequency band, then there will be interference," said Nati Schubert, a senior deputy director for the Communications Ministry. "We don't care where people buy their equipment ... but without regulation, you would have chaos."

"Schubert said he expects the problem to be resolved as Apple moves closer to officially releasing the iPad for international sale.

Nice invective, Ms. Katie Marsal (and the entire AppleInsider editorial staff). Mr. Shadwell didn't say or imply anything of the kind in his email. Apparently, a background in basic journalism isn't required at AI?

Steve should just admit the deficits and be done with it, instead of letting his arrogance punch consumers in the face. There's only so much that consumers and developers are willing to take before they will abandon you.

    APPLE IS DOOMED!!!!!

    Possible explanations re Xcode requirements.

"By telling developers to move to XCode tools, Apple is setting the stage to potentially switch architectures".

That's an interesting take on it. It's certainly impossible to know if it's true at this point, but it does make sense. Perhaps Intel has some great mobile chips up their sleeves and Apple would like to switch future iPads to Intel. Or perhaps they're going to add the ability to play iPad apps on your Mac in Mac OS X 10.7 and require them to be recompiled for Intel.

The Adobe Flash abomination wouldn't work in either of those cases and users would have to wait for Adobe to fix it. Since it only took them 10 years to come out with an OS X native version of Photoshop, I don't think anyone has the patience for that.

As I said, there's no evidence to support it, but it would be an interesting scenario.

    Bloody awesome!! Thank-you!!

Based on the sales figures, that's one more Zune than was sold in Canada.

Apple needs to be a little more diplomatic.

Wow. Apple wants to protect its ability to maximize devs ability to adjust on the fly for hardware and OS upgrades by requiring them to code natively. So saving them work and trouble is bad. Good. got that. (Don't agree, but hey it's an opinion). Steve asks a clueless friggin' entitlement-drunk idiot if he is off his meds today (showing an amazing amount of concern for the poor sod's health and well-being) and that's giving him the "middle finger".

Your fascination with digitus impudicus is vaguely amusing, but misplaced and rather adolescent in nature, certainly as a means of interpreting the actions you reference. Nice try tho. By the way - are you off YOUR meds today? Just concerned...

    Prancing around with Ipads ?

    Great line, completely moronic.

Or is a group of Ipads now called a prance of Ipads?

Cut him some slack. Envy and frustration is a hard road.

This looks like the iPad got caught in an intra-ministry fuss over who gets control.

As little as the average commenter may know about the realities of building usable software and hardware - they consistently know even less about commerce.

At least if you are in Vancouver you can make the road trip to Seattle and if you're in Toronto looks like you can go to Detroit or Buffalo.

But of course it must be hella frustrating to be right next to the USA and feel so ignored.

I couldn't agree more. We children of the baby-boomers have been taught to expect and demand the world at our fingertips. Led to believe that everyone and everything in life should be fair and equal. Taught to expect life to be less of a roller coaster and more of a easy flowing river. We depend on big business and the government alike to cater to our needs that we claim to be 'rights' but are really just 'wants'.

    And, I agree - it's sick.

Sorry but all the developers i know don't care because they say you shoudl be writing it specificly for the iphone os to get a good product anywya.

I know alot of developers and none of them feel like they've been given the middle finger at all. IN fact they are very happy wiht the amount of money they are making thanks to apple.

Go back to your adobe cubicle.
