I went from Sprint to T-Mobile to Nextel to AT&T. I settled with AT&T because the reception was the best out here in Hawaii. I've also traveled to several places in the Mainland that included San Diego, LA, Las Vegas, Maine, New Hampshire, Boston, and Connecticut to name a "few" places due to me being in the Navy. I have to say, I and am very satisfied with AT&T. Plus their plans are more reasonable compared to Verizon (nickel & diming people on their pans is not my thing).

To me, A lot of the "Complainers" are non AT&T users. My wife and I have had Excellent coverage everywhere we've been so far. I couldn't say that with my previous carriers unfortunately. That's why we kept switching until we were satisfied.

For those who aren't satisfied with their cell phone carrier, switch then. For those who spit venom on another carrier, stop. It's a matter of where you live in the world. and how good the coverage is wherever you are. AT&T just happens to be OUTSTANDING for me.

Apparently, everyone I know with an iPhone is in the other 27%.

Since satisfaction is likely to be largely regional based on geographical coverage, that really isn't all that surprising.

Really..AppleInsider? You really published this crap ...? Are you trying to become part of the mainstream media?

73% of which demographic is satisfied with AT&T ... only loyal as hell fanboys who would never harm their beloved Apple?

Seriously .. this is nothing but propaganda spreading BS.

ALL POLLS AND REPORTS ARE BIASED AND FIXED .. GET IT!

And you rely on anecdotes and personal experience instead?

Just because you and those in your region get poor service doesn't mean that 73% of AT&T's overall customer base don't do just fine. I still think that's pretty poor on AT&T's part, but from what I've read they are as good or better than the competition... only in different regions.

I would say that I am satisfied that I can usually use my iPhone for internet stuff, but in regards to making calls....I AM SERIOUS UNDERWHELMED by AT&T's service. At the end of my contract I am leaving AT&T.

Sprint is only good in the major cities. As soon as you get off the interstate Sprint's service goes off!!

AT&T has good coverage but can't keep up with the amount of subscribers! To many phones with not enough resources!!

If you would come spent a day with me you would see that I am exagerating a very little!

Maybe more than 2 but less than 1% of my calls meant to last more than 5 minutes makes it all the way through!

Most end with "call failed" or my family and friends telling me they either have an echo or I am breaking up!!

I have come to accept this as normal cell phone behavior!!

I know if I need to make an important call use the land line!!

The cell phone is just not reliable!!

    And I'm a 90 year old woman.

No wait! A 14 year old boy in my Mom's basement...

    No wait!....

Actually, there are several, if not many, here that have ten or more years on you and seem to have figured it all out. You need to do a little research before you jump on anyone's product bandwagon. Probably not what you want to hear right now, but it's the only way you will ever be a satisfied consumer of anything.

You obviously have an internet connection on something, somewhere. So do some googling on cell reception in your area. Find out who does the best job on where you live, work and travel. Then talk to folks who have the service you are seeking and ask them for their own experiences, good and bad. They really aren't that hard to find.

If the answer is still AT&T, then you have to question whether or not there is something wrong with your own phone. Chat with an Apple rep online, or visit an AT&T or Apple store, but do something, OK? Just because you are in an AT&T contract doesn't mean that you don't have options. And there are plenty of places to sell any model of the iPhone, provided it is in decent shape.

Now go forth and be happy!

There are a lot of different aspects to a satisfaction survey for wireless carriers.

You don't really believe the survey began and ended with "Do you like your AT&T service?" do you?

Consider me "satisfied", but that may have had more to do with the lovely tap ale I just consumed.

But okay, I will lighten up. I would be delighted to have, as you say, thoughtful, focused, fact-supported views that give others paws for reflection.

But if I have to stay on topic, then I had better bow out of any discussion about ATT. See you on the next thread.

Thanks, I appreciate your response. Look forward to fruitful debates!

Huh. So a survey that contradicts what many people are sure is the truth causes many people to absolutely lose their shit and go batfucking insane.

I don't understand the problem either. I can only assume if it is true that "everyone" is unhappy with AT&T's service and take into consideration that I've used my phone in nearly every major city in the US including several trips covering entire states and throughout Canada and Europe with no trouble, then it must be true that my experience with the iphone and AT&T is blessed.

However my wife has assured me that my glowing charisma is not the source of my "golden reception" nor do I own an iphone infused with the will of god . It must be dumb luck.

I think Apple should wake up and smell the coffee...locked down and governed by the Vendor is communist behavior.

This is why I enter this forum to read educated postings like the one above. I think you should look up meaning of communist before using it. It is Roses not coffee.

Secondly, If you do not like the vendor, then you have a choice, do not buy the product, BUT it seems record breaking numbers in USA, anyway like the 'closed' system.

    Last paragraph of report:

The Yankee Group says a different flagship smartphone would be worth $750 million less every year to the carrier, a key reason why "AT&T has bent over backward to keep its exclusive distribution deal with Apple as long as possible," Howe said. "Verizon has been regretting turning away Apple for the last three years."

The report also notes that 77 percent of iPhone users say they'll buy another phone from Apple, compared to just 20 percent of Android owners who say they'd buy another Android phone.

Lastly kindergarden behaviour concerning the 'maths skills comment' really, you one to talk!

I'm more satisfied with AT&T than I was a month ago since I now have 3G service at home. Still the coverage is spotty in my area so downloads can take forever depending on my location when traveling.

I live 15 minutes west of downtown Palo Alto... Still within the Silicon Valley. No 3g coverage "way out here." And when I cross over into 3G territory... calls drop.

Even worse, my house is in a "ditch," er "canyon." No cell coverage at all... (by any carrier). This lack of coverage was resolved with a 3G microcell. So my satisfaction went way up.

I would still like a 3G tower in this neck of the woods, however.

This all said, Verizon is no paradise... I grew weary of being nickled and dimed to death, and lack of international service...

The iPhone rocks... and more than makes up for ATT's underdevelopment.

I gave AT&T a Zero Rating, when I do their polls, for all of the dropped calls they torture me with every-single-#%@&*-day!!!!

Anyone else think they fix their Poll results?

Having spent many years in what Dick calls "Forcelosure Valley" (AKA the East Bay), I can feel your pain until you had access to the microcell. And I do believe Steve when he said that it can take three years to put up a tower.

I mean, really, you're there. And I'm not - I grew extremely tired of the whole process. You know, like "How's that Bay Bridge thing working out for ya?"

True, but most of those posts will contribute little to the discussion and some of those posts will manage to use 500+ words to say nothing
