So i upgrade my iPhone 3G to iOS4.1 and when i open my camera, 3/4 of the pictures are just a big black box. i can click on it and the pictures will open but after a certain point in my pictures the rest is just a giant black box. FML APPLE, DAMN YOU!
I had that happen on my phone as well. Every photo taken with 4.0 is this way. I was expecting this to be fixed with the new software because the issue is well documented on the Apple discussion forums. Looks like I'll submit another bug fix.
While overall I happy with my iPhone 4, I'm still upset the main reason I bought the new phone was because of how bad Apple screwed-up the 3G "update"... \
Does anyone know how to make gamecenter disappear, like permanently and forever (same for Ping)? I have no objection to their existence, but would like to permanently disable them and remove their icons from both my laptop and my iPhone 4.
This thing has been killin me for over a month now. Missing intesections on Freeways because it is so damn slow. Email taking forever, freezes and crashing.
I downloaded it last night and it seems much faster and wasn't freezing, thank God.
No way am I going to download a new OS from Apple ever again right after release.
I hope the QA people at Apple got taken to task about their incomplete regress testing of the 3G phone.
Apple the New MS (sad to say it! , but this experience really disappointed me)

3G performance appears to be fixed... been a few hours now and it hasn't frozen on me once. (browsing the internet/playing movies (netflix was unusable before), games, etc)

This happened once to me also on upgrading. I had to go into my PC to the folder that contained my pics that were synced to the iPhone (have a special folder just for that) - moved them to another folder, then deleted the photos on the iphone, and then moved all my pics back to the itunes folder on my PC. Then synced my iphone, which downloaded them again to the phone, and the thumbnails worked fine from then on. Try it.
After playing around with my Apple Bluetooth Headset and iOS 4.1 a little bit more, I have made a few great discoveries:
#1 Voice Control appears to acknowlege the headset. That is, when it repeats your command, you can hear it through the headset. I went straight from a 3G to an iPhone 4 so I can't say whether it worked this way with with a 3GS.
#2 You can actually invoke Voice Control using the headset's button. Just hold the button and release it after the first tone you hear. You will hear Voice Control's confirmation/start-up tone through the headset. It's reasonable to suspect it picks up your voice through the headset's mic but I really can't confirm that.
This really makes me happier about using my iPhone 4 while driving because the speaker phone doesn't compete with road noise very well.
I don't understand why you felt the need to bring the Microsoft Stores into the discussion.
Whatever happened to those? Ballmer seemed just like a fresh-faced bald kid when he was beaming with pride and ready to conquer with world with 'blue screens of death' leading the charge.

Respect you're elders
I'll save my respect for those with basic grammar skills.
I am using an iPhone 4 but gave the 3G to my wife. I did have some speed and hanging problems on 3.1.3 already, so I don't want to make them worse...
I wouldn't, not on day one.

Still putting calls on hold or muting calls when lifting phone to my ear, even after upgrading to 4.1 on my IP4.
Don?t get mad on an internet forum, be sensible and get it replaced/repaired.
