The topic of the study was computers. And Apple has a seven year streak going. It is not a one time positive thing and is newsworthy. So is the fact that PC satisfaction has turned around. Save the gloom for another day.

Well, technically, yes... but the sample only includes one nick from each poster which does away with at least 4 trolls for good ol' Black.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You may be a troll but not one anyone takes seriously.

I guess it's a common market strategy to follow a PR disaster by puffing out our chest and claiming your "the best!"

Reminds me of those cocky GM commercials about how they were so wonderful, right on the heels of a national bailout.

Naw you just forgot the Reality Distortion Field. You apparently are the only one outside of it looking in and seeing things for what they really are. Revel in your lack of illusion and your ability to see things as they are.

OTOH, perhaps you are too focussed on perceived issues where stats and facts don't hold up your assertions. Just to deconstruct your assertions: this is a yearly computer survey, not handheld/mobile survey, so no they wouldn't include that part of the equation. And since it is conducted by ACS which is an independent org measuring industry performance, and has been for quite a few years now, I am surprised you didn't know this. So this is not Apple "puffing out our chest and claiming your "the best!" - right?

And your comparison to GM is rather silly isn't it - since their customer satisfaction was significantly lower compared to the rest of the industry, assuming you bothered to research some facts to go with your assertions.

Finally - using "more than a few" user complaints begs the question and you have NO hard stats to demonstrate that it was, in fact "more than a few" now do you? Of course not. So all in all, your post is highly inaccurate, has no demonstrable basis in fact, and is your usual characteristic failure to address real issues with real facts. So even as an opinion it holds no validity whatsoever.

    black-

    intosh.

Which is why you are enshrined in so many ignore lists!

But back on subject - it is good to see a renewed focus on customer service by the PC makers. Would like to see Apple and the PC makers ALL up in the 90th percentile!!

Dude I have been a member of this forum since 2006. Believe me if I says something I want to be the one to take credit for it. I don't have to make up other user names.

    Good for Apple.

Dell, Acer and HP, in a three-way tie at 77. In fact, other PC makers, including Toshiba and Sony, also came in with a score of 77, suggesting customers view the rest of the PC industry's service equally.

Industry-wide improvements were seen as a positive consumer response to the release of Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system last year.

It must really suck to be under the mercy of a third party product. What sucks more is when the other business is making boat load of money while yours is barely afloat.

exactly...Apple can barely keep up with demand for most of it's products. Have you been in an Apple store latley? The stores are full of people buying Apple products and the net profits are higher than they have erver been so things are looking good!

It must be frustrating for the PC boys to see their target keep moving like this. They move up, Apple moves up equally. Bummer for them.

Blackintosh: Thanks for my morning laugh. It's fun to see how you can always find a fly in the ointment. If Apple cured 99% of cancers you'd criticize them for not making it 100. You are ridiculously predictable.

A whole 4 years hunh? Been reading these threads longer than that, just never felt compelled to add to the chaos until recently. And if you had read the entire post your would have seen it was a play on the phrase "pot calling the kettle black", not attributing anything significant by blackie to you.

    Here you go:

Yes it sure must be a huge embarrassment for Apple that they didn't beat the 82% 'very satisfied' of the 3GS, it really sucks if your customers like your products so much you can't outdo yourself anymore. Yet, 71% 'very satisfied' and a total of 93% 'satisfied or very satisfied' is still better than about anything on the market, especially with the ridiculously high expectations people have of Apple products. But we're all fanboys who like everything Apple, right?

By your own logic, customer satisfaction in Europe will be even higher since network coverage and used GSM bands make 'the antenna problem' even less of an issue. Boy oh boy Apple is really struggling with their phone business :-S

Don't really see how it would be any more frustrating then any other year. Apple has always been at the top when it came to customer satisfaction even in years when Macs doesn't sell as well. Only real change I see is that Sony has really dropped. They use to be up there close to Apple which isn't the case anymore.

Give Blackintosh credit for his individualism. He not only stands facing upwind to pee on his own shoes - he encourages others to stand facing downwind and pee on them as well.

Yeah, it's that evil closed system environment Apple so jealously guards that causes people to not be happy with their...oh wait. Nevermind.

I think apple kind of has an advantage cause they charge so much since they don't make low quality products like the rest of the pc makers.

    iPhone??

The report title begins with "PC industry." That stands for "personal computer". Not "pocket communicator", "phone company", or "pretty cellie".

    'K?

    THINK!
How can you measure satisfaction for a product that never existed?

They measure how satisfied they are with the product they bought, not with the product they MIGHT have bought, IF it existed.
