    Works great...

Yes, and what printer are you using? Does it require Printer Sharing to be turned on? I have it on, with an HP Photosmart C309a, and it's a non-starter.

My guess: It works for those who had previous 10.6.5 builds installed. I updated from 10H568 to the officially released build 10H574 (didn't get around to play with 10H571 and 10H574 previously) and printing works for my Brother 7010L shared through my iMac on an iPad with 4.2 GM. There are, however, people who obviously don't get it to work, and from how it sounds, they went straight from 10.6.4 to the build released today.

Either way: I find it a pity that Apple would remove the functionality, since it worked okay, and it's not like anyone would _really_ require it for anything professional. Wherever you've got access to a _shared_ printer, you also have a computer that's sharing the printer and you could simply mail the document to be printed to an account that you can access from said computer. Yeah it's the workaround that was being used before, but removing AirPrint-for-shared-printers is certainly not in the same league as demoting the screen-orientation button on the iPads, which is really confusing if you got used to having that as a hardware option for months...

That makes no sense. No one is forcing you to print. But some - and I am one - need hard copy for their job. I wish I didn't but I do. So I am really looking forward to printing wirelessly from my iPad.

Mine can! I had to go into my MacBook pro, turn on Printer Sharing despite my HP color laser being hooked into my airport via USB, and my iPad with 4.2 GM printed fine.. I swear to god.. Now, this 10.6.5 is not the one apple released, it's the delta release from a couple weeks back.

My wife is always printing recipes and coupons from her iPad running iOS 4.2GM... Ther are plenty of reasons to send something to the printer from an iPhone or iPad. How about boarding passes, move tickets, etc?

DO NOT INSTALL THIS FILE, wait for a real link to the combo updater.

EDIT: The link in my post was NOT the link to the file, I intentionally removed part of it so it didn't work. Lundy, do you really think I'm that stupid? Come on, you could at least check to see if that was the link or not before having a complete hissy over something that was perfectly safe.

Probably a printer that natively supports ePrint, and therefore Air Print:

Handy if you need to reinstall the update, faster if you are upgrading multiple machines.

ESPN360 appears to be borked in Safari for me since the update. Works in Firefix though.

Printer was already selected - I cannot even select the printer, and your video did not show this. How is your printer connected to your network? Mine is via ethernet to Time Capsule...

    From the horse's mouth:

    What printers are ePrint enabled?

Currently there are three (3) printer models that support ePrint

D110 series for North America customers

B110 series for Asia and Europe customers

    B210 series for customers worldwide

HP will announce additional printers that support ePrint in the coming months.

Buh? And in this scenario what, exactly, are you to do when someone wants a document from you? Have them copy it from your iPad? Lend them the iPad? Email them a screenshot? This isn't a big deal given we don't currently have this capability, but it is a good thing to have, and I'm surprised someone would be excited to find this feature might not be available at the current time.

My network is setup the same as yours except I connect my printer directly to my TimeCapsule via usb.

Also, once you set up a printer, your device remembers it - that's why my printer was already selected.
