you like guns? Then take up Airsoft as a hobby/sport. I love guns and rifles and all the military stuff you can possibly throw at me. But Ive never owned a real gun (gone to a range a few times). I've satisfied all my realism war fantasies with Airsoft. 1/1 scale exact replicas of real weapons that fire 6mm BBs at around 40-80yards (depending on mods, power, etc). I go in the forests every 2 weeks or so and we have big teams (10 on 10 usually) playing many different scenarios.
Otherwise, since realistic weapons may not be allowed in Costa Rica, you can try PaintBall. I love the whole tactical/group part of 'warring' so i prefer Airsoft. But Paintball can certainly give you satisfaction.
Oh yea.... ditch the gun. Get a frikken car. AND an Airsoft rifle
Cars do, thats a given, but at least in cars teens arn't meaning to kill people. If you have a gun, that says you have the intention of doing something (hunting, killing people, keeping it in you bag and feeling special. . . )and the majority of gun death's among teens and college students, are from people getting into fights, one of them having a gun, drawing it, and killing the other.
funny you say that Matsu... I just had this thought of young 19-21 year olds in the US Armed forces... trained for 6 weeks and ready to go fer sum a-rab huntin', hot damn!
no one 'should' know how to go kill. Its an instinct and having a gun when you're angry is the worst thing you can imagine. How many times when you were young (or still are) you could just visualize having a weapon and without a moment of hesitation, kill them? Im sure we have all had it. Whether it was the bully, a pang of jealousy, desperation, etc.
Guns, per se, are marvelous objects. Its all about the person that is handling them. I do NOT condone the idea of having easy access to them, but in the end, thats what it comes down to.
My father and I own several guns, ranging from a .22 to a Russian variant of an SKS, to a black powder gun. We go out in the woods and fire at targets or go to a range. It can be fun, if you are mature enough.

It sounds like you are, but not enough people are.
It's clear you're not just interested in collecting, or the sport of marksmanship (dual uzis, because it's kinda cool) and have lost your sense of priority (rather ride your gun to work?). If you want to show your father that you should get a gun, choose the car.
In case there will be any trouble around you and you have a gun .. you can too easily get in trouble. Or in many places people start to think why you would have it. Self protection..? Forget. Just forget. I intentionally am now forgetting what i was about to write.
am i right in beliving that, form reading above, soulcrusher aint from the US of A.... and when he goes over their to 'study' he's gonna by a gun, well what a great way to make friends - dont u watch the news?
anyway a car is by far greater, but i guess u cant drive which can be the only, and i do stess that, the only reason u dont want a car

myself, yes. others, no. btw, i have more driving training than 99% of people on the road at any one time. in the same way, if you have the same training and discipline in using guns, then thats fine. but owning it just to own it is stupid.
DO NOT get a gun simply "because it's cool" (as a matter of fact, that's not a reason to do ANYTHING).
If you're a hunter, target shooter or collector, fine.
But like 'rat said, be responsible and smart and take the classes and go through all the legal and safety procedures so you're not just another accident waiting to happen, okay?
Or another teen walking around with something they shouldn't.
Some of you people need to come down from your anti-gun hysteria a bit. I understand the gut-level, emotional reaction the word may cause, but come on.
there is really no need to have a gun, except for recreational purposes. I think people who used it for recreation, and who use it responsibly, should have no one in their way to get it. However, these people probably go through courses and take care and keep safe.
However, I do not want to own a gun. Think about it :"Where did I leave my gun?" Something can go wrong very quickly
however, a car is just a deadly, except guns just sound scarier. No one ever robs a bank with their Sedan.
Yet, it is allowed by the US Constitution ("To keep out the King of England") so, just listen to your parents. Guns are dangerous and should not be gotten for novelty reasons, and probably not for home safety. That is why the police are here. And there are too many stories about kids getting a hold of guns and playing with them a hurting or killing someone.... they are not toys.
Yet, I would get a car, or the computer, a gun is just scary and eventually it will not be a wise investment
and of course: <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" /> <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />
Not because guns are Evil, but because, like groverat said, unless you are willing to learn proper use, keep up your training, and keep the gun cleaned and maintained; and unless you actually have something to do with it (a shooting range, an area where you can hunt legally) it's costly, dangerous and pointless. A car is merely costly and dangerous.
The cool of owning a gun will wear off quickly if you don't actually have a reason to own one. A car might not be nearly as cool as a gun, but it'll be much easier for you to think of cool things to do with it.
