    In no specific order...

    1. The original STAR WARS Trilogy (I'm surprised no one else mentioned any of them)

    2. The Princess Bride

    3. Gladiator

    4. Robocop

    5. The Lion King

    6. Forrest Gump

    7. Titanic (Yeah, I know I'll probably get ripped apart for mentioning this film, but fu*k it - I like it, LOL)

    8. Enemy Mine

    9. Superman

    10. Clerks

ur reality is, at best, questionable. there was no redeeming part of that movie. the chic barely even nudes, which was the closest this movie got to good. any thing else was vastly outweighed by the extreme length and cheesiness of the love plot. i hated that movie with an undying passion. the movie was funny only when i watched it with russian dubbing. the chick goes, "jack, jack!" and a second later u hear a thick russian male voice repeat, "jake. jake."

Since no one has mentioned either a Coen brothers or a Wes Anderson/Owen Wilson movie, I'll throw in:

    The Big Lebowski

    Bottle Rocket

    Rushmore

    The Royal Tennenbaums

Hal Hartley is also a great director; master of dead-pan dialogue.

I'll cut you some slack since it was at the end of the first page.

I also thought about the Star Wars Trilogy (the 4,5,6 episodes) but the recent ones have sort of killed the mythology for me. :/

All time favorite? Casa Blanca (I get choked up when the whole night club sings the French national anthem, I don't care how many times I've seen it.

But i think the best movie ever made was Citizen Kane.

Arsenic and Old Lace stills makes me laugh; I pity the fool who tries to follow in Cary Grant's footsteps.

Heck, I like anything Cary Grant was in, even after he got old. (My 8-yr-old refers to him as "that guy that looks like Dean Martin, but isn't. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> )

I wish I could list The Fellowship of the Ring as an all time favorite movie. I really like it but they LEFT OUT TOM BOMBADIL. How could they do that?!! I am hopeful that The Two Towers will be a more faithful adaptation. Then that can take a place at or near the top of my list of favorites.

Which Ocean's Eleven? The first one was okay; i loved the ending. The second was just a bad remake.

I think I loved the remake but good ol' Einstein was right about more things than just physics. EVERYTHING is relative.

While I liked Mullholand Drive i wonder how no one has mentioned Blue Velvet. Just a perfect movie, oh and of course Fast Times At Ridgemont High, how about The Player and no list would be complete without a John Water's Film I'll go with Multiple Maniacs.

I will try to stay with only 5 or so.

Lost Highway - Or in fact pretty much anything from Lynch. BTW Mulholland Drive is so easy to figure out compared this one and Twin Peaks Lynch is a genious, and LH in particular is so dark, so weird, so powerful. You can't explain it to anyone, but deep inside you FEEL what it is all about.

Boogie Nights - PT Anderson is another genius. Magnolia and Punch Drunk Love are extremely good, but not like this. Anderson might be today's best screenwriter. He described the porn industry with respect but no apologies. It's both very funny and very moving. And John C. Reilly is one of the best actor around.

Star Wars, all of them - I don't need to explain. And yes I even love Ep. 1 and 2. 2 might be the best of the series IMNSHO. OK now flame me

This Is Spinal Tap - The funniest movie ever? It just rocks! Pun intended. Every single line is a joke, some more subtle than not. So filled with quotable phrases it's unbelievable. How could I live without saying "F*ck the napkins!" and "In the topsy-turvy world of heavy rock, having a good solid piece of wood in your hand is quite often...useful." ?? I don't wanna know. And did I say the music rocks?

Apocalypse Now - A litteral voyage to hell. It can't be described. No one films endings as intense as Coppola. The last 15 minutes are pure intensity, like the end of the Godfather was. I can't decide between the original or the redux though. Both have have different strenghts.

That's for the big ones. Others I want to mention: Brazil, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, American Psycho, Unbreakable, 2001, It (the tv movie. The ending sucks big time, but that clown still scares me, seriously. I hate clowns ever since I've seen this). I will add some if I can think of them.

    Enjoy them!
