I think it was not done properly. It is hurting now and I keep biting it while eating, also it is in contact with my teeth and gum and may eventually cause so irritation.
Not exactly on topic but I think it could tie in with your new look. What about libertarian activism? I saw how much that topic means to you on your webpage. Do you feel like you have "restricted" freedoms? I see this so often from many young teenagers. There is this idea that the world is against us kind of thing. We must try to take the world by storm and rebel! kind of attitude.
Is it me or is this just a teenager thing?
Please don't take this personal as this is something I see from some of the teen segment of the population.
I just don't get it. That's all.
I think too many youths have this chip on their shoulder that the "establishment" is against them and this "establishment" is evil and must be rebeled against.
I just have a hard time understanding the mindset that buys into this kind of world view.
Again I took the thread off the main topic for a bit but I did so only to see if it fits in with your libertarian activism outlook.
I think that this piercing is in a wrong place. The inferior lip is a sort of dam for the saliva. The piercing will be a sort of tiny hole where the saliva will try to go outside.
You should remove it, it will bring you more and more troubles : saliva's fistula, injury of your teeth, and inflammation or ulceration of your gum.
Yes, you were pierced incorrectly... I'd say to take it out before you cause any damage or discomfort, take it somewhere else and get it done right (it's up to you how long to let it heal, first, if at all).
But it looks good. You look cute. I'm thinking about getting the eyebrow, but I've just been too busy to think about that very much lately!
Fellowship wasn't being jerky in his post. He asked legit questions. I didn't see them as "conservative, patronizing" in tone.
I don't have any piercings or tattoos myself, and I sometimes ask detailed questions to those I know who have them (does it hurt, how much did it cost, why that tattoo/piercing, why that particular location, what does it make you feel like, does it require any maintenance or special care, etc.).
No one else here in this thread seems too enamored of it (some even saying "eww!" and so forth).
Medically and all, if what some others above have said, it might cause troubles. All I know is that feeling unique and "free" isn't completely worth a mouthful of infections or constant discomfort.
Just get a weird, freaky haircut. It isn't permanent, grows back when you're out of that phase and no chance of infections or injuries like you risk when you jab a hunk of metal through your face/mouth area.
"Yeah, I've got two mini-spikes through my scrotum and I have my eyelid pierced and I have a Celtic symbol tattooed on my right nut...it hurts sometimes, and...".
i would say that if it's making you nervous now, i'd take it out. if nothing else, it's your body, if something doesn't feel right, trust your instinct.
(well, that and powerdoc is a REAL doctor, his advice might be worth something)
You don't need it. You can look as alternative as you want in far less permanent ways. Try to be wise, you don't know what kind of environment you'll want to be in the future. Me = big pussy, won't let anyone put holes in me. But, piercings, even in slighly alternative areas, don't bother me, nor do tattoos, untill either becomes excessive, then it just looks bad. Take a look at your average "Skin art" mag, those people aren't going anywhere, maybe not anywhere bad either, but not anywhere good too.
If you want to think different, by all means, there's plenty of room "alternatives" in my view at least, but it's generally better to let your brain do the talking and not your appearance. Don't reveal too much about yourself on the surface. You want to be stealthy, slide under the radar, catch 'em by surprise. That's far more interesting than the politics of "free expression."
Perhaps , but he can be also an Heroinoman. I vote for the first, not because we are confident in Eugene, but because one piercing in the elbow per 3 months is not enough for an heroinoman
We can't know the truth about your motivations, but you can know the truth about people's reactions. I think they'll see "rebellion" in it, even if you don't intend to project it.

There's the rebellion right there.
