For some reason I have a hard time seeing Apple do Widgets of any kind. They seem to view battery life as the end-all-be-all of design, and having several things running at once would eat battery life, even if just for a moment.
Sure, long battery life is great and very important, but so is giving customers useful and oftentimes necessary features.

You're right... Apple's business strategy is certainly hurting them...

Apple should not get complacent either. Look at where that got Microsoft, especially in the browser wars. Android-based phones use edge-to-edge screens for a larger display area and widgets. It feels like Apple has fallen behind the pack as far as the design and functionality of their phones and mobile operating system is concerned.
There had better be more to it than just this stuff, or it had better blow people away, or Apple risks looking like they're playing catch-up to Android circa 2009.
Who is Abdroid? Never heared of this guy.
Anyway everything sounds really very exciting. Can't wait for the WWDC keynote. I hope they are doing this live streaming again.

If having widgets reduces the battery life significantly then I don’t think we’ll see them, but if having them recedes it minimally then I think we will see them.
The fact that a widget requires some power doesn’t mean they won’t include them. Apple isn’t against utilizing the battery more, so long as the balance between usage and longevity are balanced.
They could even make a special App Store segment for widgets or utilize a special API that will only update with a server as a group request to help reduce overhead and power drain. There are plenty of ways to add a feature without causing it to drain the battery as Apple has shown in the past with PSN and backgrounding APIs.
Off topic, but I just wanted to update you all that after 1 month I finally have my replacement iPhone4 from my local telco. As you know I was quite vocal about the Home button misbehaving in a minor but niggling, annoying way. Doing the restore on my replacement iPhone4 now. The telco was not particular about even testing the problem a month ago, they just put me on a waiting list for a replacement. Wish me luck with this new one!
My apologies for not being blasé over unnecessary human death.
These are clearly terrible individual personal tragedies, but as has been pointed out many times I think, the suicide rate at Foxconn is substantially lower than both the Chinese and US national averages, so I'm not sure what point you keep trying to make on this subject.

8. Revamped Apple applications suites (more advanced features with new gestures)...
I'm probably being a bit picky here, but there are no "Apple application suites" on iOS and with the advent of the Mac App store, they don't exist on the desktop anymore either.
If you mean that you'd like to see Pages and Numbers on iOS get a bit more serious and actually be workable solutions for productivity, then I whole-heartedly agree.

Oh bullshit!
Do you really believe that a couple of nitwits on a rumours forum know more about Apple's business than Apple itself. Do you think that Steve, Tim and company can't see what's out there and where they need to go. Do you really think it's complacency or could it be that Apple is in it for the long haul and they know their target audience.
Microsoft??!! Fuck me... are you really comparing Steve J. to Steve B.??!! What the hell??!!
That's all??? I fear Apple will be playing catch-up to Microsoft Mango, which is supposed to have 500 new features!!! As in: 500 new tiles, one for each feature.

I honestly hope they don't do widgets. iOS doesn't need to be any more cluttered than it is now. Mostly I want better file management.
I am absolutely cerain, that if at all, it will be a feature, that can be turned off with a simple swipe or twist with three or more fingers.

Here are 10 features that I would like to see...
1. New cool finger gestures
2. Widgets a la OS X.
3. Seamless iCloud integration (audio, video, pictures, custom data etc...)
4. Updated and feature rich mapping application based on new Apple backend.
5. New voice search based on artificial intelligence & Siri+Nuance technology in the backend.
6. A whole new Web development framework based on html5 + WebObjects + Cocoa.
7. Handwriting recognition using patented stylus or fingers.
8. Revamped Apple applications suites (more advanced features with new gestures)
9. Cloud based printing support
10. NFC to support a variety of ID and Payment systems.
If feature 4 & 5 are implemented in both iOS and Mac OS, they could be a Google killer.
Time will tell.
Intriguing. My interest in the above:
1. Somewhat Interested
2. Somewhat Interested
3. Very Interested
4. Turn-by-Turn built in?
5. Not So Interested
6. Hmm

It's better if you don't feed trolls.

How are you going to make fun of a misspelled word in someone's post and then misspell a word in your very next post?

In general I absolutely agree, but I don't think this poster is a full time troll. He makes some good points sometimes.

To you, maybe, but to me he seems to work very hard at being an asshole (and a troll).
I think there will be at least "100 new features"
