sorry, i think people misunderstood the point of my posting those stats.
it has nothing to do with trying to draw any hint of correlation between them.
rather, what i was trying to get at is that most women/girls who go into prostitution and stripping do so because of a shitty childhood. they go into these types of jobs to try and escape their past, but it really only makes it worse.
they need help, not drooling idiots telling them they're only worth $20.

I agree with you completely here. But under the current law surrounding prostitution, these girls aren't getting the help they need, are they?
If you legalize it and ENFORCE it (and I mean really enforce it, background checks, criminal records, drug testing, disease testing, etc, etc, etc, for both the girls and the customers) then you have a much higher chance of finding abused girls and getting them counselling, BEFORE they enter the industry. Your giving women far more choices, choices they don't have now.
AND, we will have a better chance of getting the "evil" people off the streets that are taking advantage of these girls in the worst ways (pimps, cops, sex slave importers, customer abuse, etc).
The current system hasn't worked for over a hundred years. Try something new maybe?
