Husband and I have MASH seasons 1 and 2, anxiously awaiting season 3. Also have Stargate SG-1 seasons 1 and 2. Stargate is a good show; sometimes the storylines could be better, but the cast really works well together.
MASH Season 3 will be released Feb. 18th.
I'd heard Stargate SG-1 Season 3 was coming out this month also, but can't find any information about this. My son is a Stargate *expert*, so I'll have to ask him about it.
Would love it if Quantum Leap came out on DVD. Sliders was good up until the last season. After Q left the show and Remmy was the only original cast member left, we stopped watching.
The cast of the show does indeed work great together. Sad to see Daniel leave after season 5, but he's confirmed to be returning for season 7, together with the rest of the cast. Amanda Tapping (Sam Carter) is especially impressive. She speaks eloquently, has a great sense of humor, and most amazing of all, she's actually a physicist, and understands the theory behind most of what her character talks about in the series. What a woman.
There almost wasn't a 7th Season. (Filming now in Vancouver.) Richard Dean Anderson (Jack) almost didn't sign a contract because he has a 4 yr. old daughter, Wylie Quinn Annarose, to care for. He is raising her as single parent. He wanted a flexible schedule as actor/producer of Stargate. Luckily, MGM gave him what he wanted. The other cast members were waiting to see what he did. If Anderson hadn't signed for Season 7, Stargate would have been finished. Fans of Stargate won't see a lot of Jack in Season 7.
As for your comment about Amanda Tapping (Sam)being a physicist, I couldn't tell if you were joking or serious. Checking several SG-1 fan sites, I found that she has always been an actress. I don't know your source, but it's wrong. She learned some things about astrophysics (sp?) from military personnel who are advisors to the show. However, she has a brother who is a biochemist.
Hmmm... from the commentary track she sure does a lot of boasting about her knowledge of physics going beyond what she'd need to know in the series. I guess it's all method acting, then.
