In my best medical opinion, it is not possible to tie two hips in a knot. So I would consider "tied at the hip" and "unraveling a knot" to be mixed metaphors, particularly since the common saying is "joined" rather than "tied" at the hip (arguably, that alone is a mixed metaphor).
No worries about the troll remark. I wasn't so much taking or raking umbrage as I was giving hopefully well received (fat chance) advice.
But this isn't a medical question. Look at your two quotes above " tied at the hip" and "unraveling a knot" are consistent in their context not mixed. Tied and unraveling. You may not like the metaphor "tied at the hip" because it's similar to the very common "joined at the hip" but that's different than a mixed metaphor.
I better get to bed, I need to get up early and rake the umbrage that's been piling up on the lawn.
Every time I see Cook's upside down smile, I am reminded of a celebrity but cannot pull the name off the tip of my tongue.
The dude works and lives in California. Why does he wear a sweater with an undershirt? In fact, why do Apple dudes wear mock turtlenecks, sweaters and other long sleeve garbs? You would never imagine an Apple event is mostly based in California based on what the presenters wear.
Apple has found the most initial success, winning bans on the sale of Samsung devices in Australia and Germany.
The above statement from the article is not well informed (e.g. see http://tinyurl.com/6cdu44z ) - buyers in Germany CAN buy the redoubtable Galaxy 10.1 (which is MASSIVELY superior to the iPad 2 in almost every way, and is very obviously not a copy of anything) - it's just that Samsung aren't allowed to advertise it.

California is not hot. Especially in the bay area.

The coldest winter I ever spent was the summer in San Fransisco.
All of California is not as hot as Los Angeles. It's a pretty large state.
Edit: is it Ryan Stiles that Tim Cook reminds you of?

SF is one of my fav cities. I have been there multiple times during all 4 seasons. I see people wearing toques and down jackets when I arrive in Dec, which to me is hilarious. Regardless, sweaters indoors in SF? Come on!
While I frequently disagree with Mueller's somewhat fanciful opinions, when you sift through his editorialisms to the facts those are rarely reported incorrectly.
Do you honestly believe Apple did not attempt to file a criminal complaint in this case?
I don't read Spanish so I can't speak with certainty on this, but since so many news sites are saying the same thing it seems unlikely all of them are wrong.
Scroll up to post 97. I think he was pretty clear. He was also clear in his original post.
This is ridiculous - speaking as a lawyer, this is nothing more than a stall tactic and annoyance by Samsung's counsel; Apple's product came first, so there's little to nothing to be gained by deposing its designers.

Given your use of the word toque I'm going to guess your baseline for what constitutes cold may be somewhat different than someone from the bay area.
I still believe that TSMC will produce A6 since Apple have taped out a design at them.
The problem is displays, flash memory and other components that Apple buys from Samsung. Many of these factories have been funded by Apple. (For example the 1 billion pre payment for flash memory in 2005).
This is how huge Samsung's betrayal is.
Apple is their largest customer with 8-10 billion of sales. About 7-9% of Samsung's revenue. Is it enough for Samsung? No. They use their knowledge of Apple parts for tablets/phones and make almost identical products with Android.
This will always be a problem as long as companies outsource components to OEM's. The OEM's gets the design and can make their own version of the products.
I think you are somewhat misguided.. Yes, Apple made capital investment in Samsung to secure supplies a couple of years back - or else Apple might have had to delay its product release like others mobile makers were often told to wait. And Samsung spends many more billions upgrading / building manufacturing capacity every year.
Sony is Samsung's #1 customer with upward of $12B in sale. Apple is #2, followed by HP, Dell, Verizon, etc.. Apple's share is approx ~5%.
Apple is a marketing / design / integration company, Samsung is a technology and manufacturing giant. Samsung has been making mobile devices at least a full decade longer than Apple.

I was not thinking of Ryan Stiles, but I do see the resemblance there. Stiles looks too goofy whereas Cook is all business.

Goofy? GOOFY!? Oh wait, Ryan Stiles looks goofy as all get out. Carry on.
TSMC, anyone?
(That's the right acronym, right?)
Sorry but that is a huge risk, especially when yields arent as vast as Samsung's. That is something Apple cant give up.
TSMC has a proven track record of not meeting demands, not to mention quality problems with the Nvidia fiasco.
This is ridiculous - speaking as a lawyer, this is nothing more than a stall tactic and annoyance by Samsung's counsel; Apple's product came first, so there's little to nothing to be gained by deposing its designers.
You are one horrible lawyer then.

How about Liam Neeson?
TSMC, anyone?
(That's the right acronym, right?)
wishful thinking?

Gave myself away, did I? Yeah, I am a skier.
How about Liam Neeson?
Nah. But, again, I see some resemblance justifying your suggestion. It'll come to me ...
How about Liam Neeson?
Cook doesn't look a thing like Liam Neeson.
And if anyone is Qui-Gon, it's Steve. Cook is Obi-Wan.
Stev-Paul Jobbs: "These music industry types are cowards. The negotiations will be short."
Do you honestly believe Apple did not attempt to file a criminal complaint in this case
No.
Apple (most likely) did file a criminal complaint.
Apple did not file criminal charges.
We have two months left, man; what're you thinking?
That's time at least for fifteen more major articles, and not just here, I'll tell you.
Oh I know...I read them all over the Android and other tech blogs too.
Annoying...Samsung...STOP COPYING...be MORE original...inspiration is one thing, but you copy...stop.
Apple...keep up the good fight...but just the good fight, sometimes you OD.
