I go on Android sites as well and see almost zero mentions of the iPhone.
That's probably because Apple fans don't, generally, seek out Android sites to pick fights. Or Microsoft sites. Or Samsung sites, should any exist. Clearly, the same can't be said for enthusiasts of these other platforms, or people that just have an axe to grind regarding Apple.
You also have to allow for the fact that Apple has a unique cultural presence: almost racial or sexual level animosity, expressed in every corner of the internet. This goes way beyond typical partisanship, and into a pretty ugly worldview that equates Apple and Apple users with all things weak, mannered, pretentious, vacuous, lll-informed, spineless, slavishly devoted to fashion, and, of course, smug.
In other words, real men use Android, Windows, or whatever else you've got. Apple makes toys, as befits their childish customers. Apple users are girly men when they aren't actually girls, and hysterical queens, and probably deserve a punch in the face.
Insane? Sure. Ubiquitous? Always, and if you doubt it note that every time this gets mentioned you will reliably get a bunch of "Yeah, but it's all kind of true, 'they' bring it on themselves." This about the what is possibly the widest demographic of any consumer electronics company, selling hundreds of millions of devices all over the globe.
So when there's a site that might have the promise of allowing Apple fans to do a little trash talk, celebrate some successes for the platforms, and kid around without constantly being hectored by assholes, the way they undoubtedly will be on every other fucking tech site on the internet, how is that a problem?
What is it about Apple that seems to drive people crazy if they get the feeling they're talking amongst themselves without monitoring for error? I actually find it mystifying.
P.S. Does anyone really doubt apple will FOLLOW android makers and slap a big screen in their next device? and seeing as Samsung did 4" screens first wouldn't that be grounds for a lawsuit and injunction?
