By comparing the image of my iPad 2 and the image in the invitation... its a Retina Display
Yup. I've got $700 sitting in my PayPal account waiting for the iPad 3. I earned $430 in Staples Rewards over the past 4 months and used that money to buy a $499 ASUS Transformer Prime. Then turned around and sold it on eBay for $560
No way in hell I was keeping that thing with the iPad 3 coming out
Rumors have suggested the display will have a resolution of 2,048 by 1,536 pixels, which would be twice the resolution of the 1,024-by-768 screen found on the iPad 2.
Nope. 1024 x 768 -> 2048 x 1536 is a four fold increase in resolution.
If Wall Street follows the same rut it's been in for the past few years, AAPL will run up slightly every day until a day or two before the iPad 3 announcement. On the day of the announcement, it will retreat $20 to $40. Then it will gradually rebound over the next week or two, passing where it was on the day before the announcement.
Buy on rumor, sell on news. We'll see if it happens again.
Here's a quick shot I did with the iPad 2 screen. Even not as close as the one on the invite you can see the pixels. So the retina is a given beyond any doubt!!!

Zombie OMGs?
haha, i like that.
If credibility was the criterion for existence, CNBC, Fox, Forbes, WSJ would all be out of business.
Struggling to make connection between media in list...
Wow! Just look at the resolution of that calendar icon!
That was my first reaction

Would this be the first time they've ever shown the product in the teaser invite before the unveiling?

Do we count silhouettes in hands of dancing people?

Since it's impossible to know what they are using in the siloettes I'm going to say no.

Don't confuse the count of an area with the measure of two perpendicular dimensions.
Since it's impossible to know what they are using in the siloettes I'm going to say no.
Excellent point

My wive will leap from iPad 1 to iPad 2. As a consequence I will be forced to leap from iPad 2 to iPad 3.
Hate to be picky here, but you either dropped the 's' in wives or misspelt wife! Now, which is it, 'fess up!
(If the former, you scored two life sentences )
Three cheers for Apple! (...and wives!)
