What will be interesting is the developers on stage to present new "retina apps"...

I suspect we could see 3rd-part offerings for

    -- games

    -- education

    -- enterprise

    -- books/magazines

    -- office apps

    -- AV creation editing

    -- graphics

    -- medical

I'd bet that MS Office iPad will be shown and Photoshop Touch will have an immediate upgrade for higher resolution images.

Longshot is that Apple has licensed Wacom technology and supports a high-resolution pressure-sensitive pen.

Whichever way ... my 'wive' is getting the same present

    That thing looks familiar.

I think it is a giant iPod Touch. I have my $1,200 ready for that baby.

Shows you how clueless these news orgs really are. You'd think they could at least get the locale rumor right the same day Apple makes the official announcement.

CNBC probably got 'punked'(is that the correct slang?) by Apple. Good.

So 'to see and to touch'.

Anything to read into the 'and to touch'?

Just means they will have them ready to sell? Or???

Here's a quick shot I did with the iPad 2 screen. Even not as close as the one on the invite you can see the pixels. So the retina is a given beyond any doubt!!!

Yep we were all discussing that earlier in the thread.

The other icons are blurry. Did they implement some kind of "depth of field" where it focuses on where your finger is even before you touch it?

Looks thick enough to be the top or bottom. Not sure why they'd photograph it upside-down.
