Not saying there is anything wrong with that as I'll take the speed, heat, weight, thickness and that bitchin screen any day over the old one. Saying you can't notice it though is kind of reaching a little, there is an obvious difference and it isn't as suttle as you make it out to be.

Right. 1.46 pounds is SOOOOOO much heaver than 1.34 pounds. I doubt if many people can even tell the difference.

Apple has now acknowledged that some iPad owners may be experiencing Wi-Fi issues due to hardware or design problems. The WiFi only version may be affected while the 4G is not according to an Apple Support document. AppleCare staff has been instructed to "capture" (box and return to Apple engineering) any WiFi new iPads that exhibit:

    -Intermittent connectivity

    -Slow Wi-Fi speeds

    -Wi-Fi network not seen

Add me to the list. Two laptops in the same room have no trouble, but the iPad drops the signal after a few seconds.

*Surely* Apple must have field tested the new machines before release, so what is going on?

    Life?

Sometimes, despite our wishes or best intentions, unintended crap happens. Take it back to Apple and get it swapped. Their standing behind their product - what more (aside from perfection) do you want them to do?

It could be worse - you could be an Asus owner: http://allthingsd.com/20120406/confi...es-gps-issues/

So that's why Android tablets require USB ports...

This problem was so irritating, I got so fed up with it. After spending ages looking for a solution for this issue, I was just about to give up because all of the step by step guides which I found didn't solve my problem with the wifi reception. In the end though, I found a couple of reviews of Pong Research 's cases, that convinced me to give it a try. This case is built with an antenna in between layers of the back cover, which redirects and boosts the power of the signal and increases the range of the wifi antenna on the iPad. After getting one, I couldn't be happier with my new toy!

The wifi range issue on the new iPad (3) is a real pain. I was really annoyed when I tried my new toy and this happened to me. After looking for a solution to this issue for quite some of time, I was just about to give up, and RMA the iPad. I did a bunch of research came across WIRED magazine and found a extensive and detailed review of Pong Research cases. These guys make a very special case which has a built-in antenna in between its layers, which redirects and boost the signal and range of your new iPad, iPhone and other devices. This solved my new iPad 3 wifi issues and now as a result, I'm able to connect to my router from further distance without a problem at all.

I remember having this issue; it was really annoying being forced to use the new iPad, only in the same room as my wifi router because of the poor range. I spent quite a bit of time researching, for a solution, with no luck. All of the methods I found didn't work for me. In the end though, I found a couple of reviews of Pong Research's cases, that convinced me to give it a try. This case is built with an antenna in between layers of the back cover, which redirects and boosts the power of the signal and increases the range of the wifi antenna on the iPad. Besides that, this also comes with an improved version of the Apple Smart Cover which asides from retaining the sleep/wake function, because of its origami design, you can fold it and stand it in 5 different positions - very cool in my opinion!
