Okay, let's look from another angle.
What incentive is there to upgrade a handset from 2.3 to 4.0 when it can run all the apps anyway?
OEMs and networks demonstrate a lack of concern about the users's experience when they don't support or provide an official upgrade to the latest Android with new features, bug and security fixes.
So you are looking at this from the companies point of view rather than the consumers?
I disagree with Phil's assertion that people use a smartphone with one hand. I constantly see people using 1 hand to hold their phone and the other to operate it regardless of size. Having said that, I am ticked Apple didn't go with a screen as big as the Galaxy S3. I'm still getting the iPhone because I love the Apple ecosystem.
That, of course, is completely divorced from reality. Apple offers iOS updates for their phones for at least 2 years, often 3 years. For Android, OTOH, it is common that even a brand new phone doesn't have any Android upgrades available. Heck, my daughter bought an Android 2.2 phone after ICS was already out and there is no chance that it will ever be upgradeable.
Like so many of the Android 'bragging rights' issues, that's one of the ones that sounds good in theory, but in practice, it stinks.
I'm sorry but the comparisons of OS upgrades is just BS. Great, iPhone 4 users upgrade to iOS 6. But they'll be missing a lot of the key features that make iOS an actual upgrade. No Flyover or turn-by-turn navigation in Maps, still no Siri, no panoramic shots in the Camera app, no Facetime over cellular, etc. On Android, you can upgrade individual apps. So if there's an update to the mail client, you can just download it, no waiting for the next version of Android. Samsung can add functionality to their Siri equivalent without being tied to an OS release. Meanwhile, Apple ties ALL updates to OS releases and most have diminished importance to older hardware. Looking at the features Apple showcases for iOS 6, the majority of them look like they could have been offered via individual updates to apps.
As a minor aside, the design of the ad looks like it was done by someone in a corporate office who raised their hand enthusiastically and said, "Yes, I know Indesign really well!!" as opposed to a creative agency. Looks like a nice mock up, not a final...
Someone else may have already said this, but if Android products (Samsung Galaxy S III) are so good, why do people not line up days in advance to buy them as they do for Apple idevices?
I must say I am impressed with Samsung Galaxy SIII, I bought one for my wife, since she does not like the iPhone for some reason and in addition did not want to get her iPhone 4S, since iPhone 5 was coming (2 months ago)
My issue with Samsung is that the layout is messy and different layers to the functions, seems unorganised, even my wife had to admit, it took her a couple of weeks to understand the functionality of her phone compared to my iPhone 4S or even my iPad.
For me the iPhone is simple, easy to use and collates your apps in easy folders to access from your screen without being messy, not the case with Samsung SIII.
As for Tallest Skill comments about adapters, that was misleading, since Samsung have been manufacturing phones longer than Apple.
--Is lighter --Has the same 4G LTE capability. --Has an equally good or better video capability --Has the same storage capacity --Has Siri, not the knock off "S talk."
Then, they fail to mention that the Retina display's pixel density more than makes up for the small resolution difference. The resolution stat is extremely misleading, and Samsung knows it. After this, they make some very questionable battery claims, then list a bunch of features that most people don't care about. Do a poll of average smartphone users (non techies) and ask them if they know what NFC, GroupCast, S-Beam and SmartStay are. Or, ask them why 2GB of Ram is better than 1GB in a smartphone.
Time to get your ass handed to you again, Samsung.
No it wasn't, the original iPods (still within the 10 years he claimed) had firewire only charging, the other end of the plug was a firewire port, that isn't the same as USB
That was not my claim. I said TODAY's charger works with the older iPod. It IS completely compatible. I should know, I own one. Who cares about the other end?
So his claim is still correct. One connector on the end that matters, the device.
SAMEsung company which loves to do copy paste especially KNOWN products (well hello APPLE and SONY TV) now claiming this AD that their phone is the ultimate phone?? c'mon, a plastic thingy and a OS WHICH is pure trash!!! Fandroids kept on raving about their plastic thing that is cheap.. the reason why its cheap it was made from PLASTIC. Hopefully Apple will sue this SAMEsung again and again till they end up being broke
Samsung has used 18 different connectors while Apple has changed theres only once. This comparison forgot a few features from the iPhone 5. Like turn by turn navigation and traffic reports, flyover real time maps. Panoramic picture with just one click. Video and photo editing right on your phone. A6 custom ARM dual processor that out does Samsung's Quadcore plus uses less power. Made of high quality aluminum and glass that is still lighter and stronger versus cheap plastic. Text with one hand. Fits in your pocket without the need of a shoe horn. Full service and support across the country and the world without having to call and wait 6 weeks for a replacement. Photo stream sharing. Facetime and twitter built in. Video and picture taking at the same time. Passbook

ok then, name a second.
So you are looking at this from the companies point of view rather than the consumers?
What?

Are you going through the stages of grief, or just totally losing it? I think you need professional help in either case.

You keep saying that - and it's still not right.
First, you can't run all apps on the old versions of Android.
Second, you don't get bug fixes.
Third, you don't get security fixes.

No, he's not getting it because the screen is too large for him.

Don't play dumb yourself. People are paid to lie on competitor's forums. I've seen it happen personally, HERE.

If you'd read the image, you'd know that it wasn't misleading.
Also, time isn't an excuse for anything there.

Why i just feel so interesting... to watch a battle. At least that is better than one alone going big with others left behind far away.
