Who in the right mind would bring thousands of fake adapters to Apple, to exchange for real ones for $10 apiece, WITHOUT reading the not very fine print that they'll need to show ownership of an iDevice for each adapter? What you said made zero sense.

Who would do this? "Unscrupulous makers of these knock-off chargers" as I already stated. They are not in their "right mind".
However, who would not know this was a joke? Then continue to show their ignorance?

But Samsung uses a standard adapter, no need for an expensive proprietary one

Samsung does use a standard charger.

    In fact, they use Apple's:

    Thanks for clearing that up.

NO PROBLEM just buy 5,640 iPhones, iPad and iPods (in any combination) and give us a check for $56,400 and all the non apple adapters and we will swap them out with official Apple power adapters. Of course we will need to see all 5,640 of the iProducts to get the actual unique serial numbers off them, which could take a good amount of your free time.. End result = Your Problem is solved.

Yeah right, I didn't realise that Apple had changed to a micro USB charger

Then today's just another day of learning for you!

Wanna get all upset about the Playstation again?

    I brought the tissues!

...despite the fact that Apple had to do nothing about replacing any of these non-genuine chargers for individuals who feel obliged to save a dollar and answer their phones after just stepping out of the shower, covered in water, while having it plugged into a lethal, electrical power source.

Let me sum it up for you:

Apple did nothing wrong here and STILL offered to address the issue.

    Good customer service, yes?

Mr. Drive-by troll poster whining his "Apple too expensive" nonsense and blaming Apple for people buying cheap knockoffs.  Apparently, he's stupid enough to believe that it's cheaper to spend $1 for a Chinese-made piece of crap that could potentially be lethal, than to spend $10 bucks and know you're getting the real thing, along with the reliability and service that goes along with it.

I woke up Jackass.  Make like a bee and buzz off troll.

You know, there are a lot of unnecessary insults being thrown around in this thread. Whatever happened to the motto "treat others as you would want to be treated"?

I think Chris had a valid point. Although Apple has put, what would appear at face value, to be a foolproof system to avoid scammers, there is often a way around these things (such as fake serial numbers).

I think people need to be more respectful of other people on these forums. Would you behave like this if you were talking face to face? I suppose you're going to attack me now for asking for a bit of decency.

This forum is nuts when jokes, and observations about the likely cost need to be followed with or laced with insults.  What is it with Apple that makes people go crazy, one way or the other?

If you find descriptions of your behaviour to be offensive then maybe that may be a sign to cease the offensive behaviour.

There are a number of individuals on this forum who's comments are...uneducated.

There are also a number of individuals who's comments are downright misleading. Not to mention financed.

Get your facts straight, and you'll never be mistaken for either.

    Wait, what?

Is it not equally possible and likely a sign that the person writing the response is being rude? The tone of the reply does not necessarily bear any relationship to the content of the original remark. One can be a dick in response to an inoffensive post, and one may reply politely to someone who's being an asshole.

What a world you would have to live in to believe that people with different views, beliefs and opinions are "misleading" others and must be paid shills.

C'mon, you're neither that gullible nor that paranoid.

Aw come on! Everybody knows that Apple is just doing this to get people into their stores, and if they don't have the proper receipt will be forced to pay for "over-priced" Apple crap. /s

Apple should also be forced to look into allegations of worker mistreatment and properly compensate those workers from their obscene billions. Because ya know, if it wasn't for Apple making popular and pretty designed "plugs", there would be no need for the Apple knock-offs, hence the workers wouldn't be mistreated. /s

Spun that rather nice if I say so myself...:smokey:

The incidents left one man in a coma, while a more serious case left a 23-year-old woman dead.

It is sufficient to say, '...left one man in a coma and one woman dead." It's sort of obvious that being dead is 'more serious', and in fact there are some who may even suggest that it is less serious depending on the outcome of the coma victim

I am well aware about those chargers on the Galaxy Tabs, I don't particularly like the Galaxy Tab, didn't think they were worth mentioning. However, their phones have micro USB

You have lost me here, what are you going on about? No wait, are you getting all upset about someone who is complaining about a product that isn't even available for sale yet?

That doesn't even make sense; people are describing me offensively means that I'm the offensive one? What kind of backwards logic and doublethink is that?

Bull. No one is going to pay people to come to an Apple fan board and post anti-Apple comments. Doesn't happen. The audience isn't big enough and it's too hostile. No chance.
