Ok, I'll list a few features Android has that iOS doesn't (without jailbreak/root):
One can add widgets to the homescreen and lockscreen. A popular type is a weather widget.
One can download apps not on the play store
One can view the file system of their device
One can download a launcher that allows them to customize animations, app icons, and app names on the homescreen
One can see what apps are draining the battery and using up RAM
The ability to set default apps. I see a lot of iOS users using chrome, but when you click on a link in another app, it opens in Safari.
I think iOS's only big feature over Android is it's much larger selection of apps.
1. Maybe, but at what cost to battery/performance?
2. That includes downloading pirated apps and malware? No thanks.
3. The general public doesn't care
4. See above
5. No need for this on iOS. The OS controls that and adjust memory as necessary.
6. Interesting but most keep the default. Don't want to add confusion in case some accidentally changed the default and then removed the app.
...Amiga Syndrome: cheap hardware with notable features but a dearth of quality apps. You could also call it an Atari ST
hahahahahhahahahahahahaha... hahahahah !!! I did not read more stupid "fact" for long time...
* Atari ST and Amiga had first class applications long before Windows/DOS! *
1. Steinberg Cubase
2. Apple Logic
3. Cinema 4D
4. LightWave
5. 3D Studio Max
6. PageStream
...
these are some of professional applications that starts it's life on Atari ST or Amiga and they usually was Atari or Amiga exclusives for many years! (practically until Microsoft made "usable" Windows: Windows 3.x / 95)
and you also had ports of DOS applications like WordPerfect for Atari or Amiga
...but nobody use these *garbage* on Atari or Amiga because there was MUCH MUCH better alternatives!

sometimes I think people confuse capability with simplicity. They need not be at different ends of the spectrum. Ironically, it's lack of forethought which often leave things complex to the end user. Many times to the point of requiring additional end user management to customize or correct issues which if design properly should not be of any concern to the end user. In contrast, it's complex to refine things down to something genuinely simple and equality as capable to the end user. I think that many power-users fear that if something designed to be simple to the end user, that it prevents them taking advantage of some kind of missing "necessary" capability. However, for more experienced and seasoned developers, this is simply not the case. They can appreciate the effort involved into boiling things down into things that really matter and to cut down through the noise. They can also differentiate between the power of well thought out simplistic interface vs gimmicky unnecessary controls presented as utility to the end user. To the power user, many act like they and all consumers "need" a command line interface on a tablet. To the experience developer, they know what is often required to sell their product over the competitions', is to write millions lines of code to minimize and delight the user with a truly capable and simplistic product interface.
At the end of the day, when a seasoned developer sits down with tablet for enjoyment, they would much rather deal with something simple than be presented with a command line and a bunch of controls they really don't want to deal with. Its bad enough that you have to deal with this complexity during the work day. Its refreshing to use something simple, capable, polished and "complete" for change.
2. That includes downloading pirated apps and malware? No thanks.
No it doesn't include that. Some apps lose some useful functions when updated or don't work as they did before and one can find the previous version to reinstall.
I also recall you state you own a Samsung Note as well. Its very interesting to me that you have owned so many different tablets from different manufacturer's.
I spend a lot of time researching a product before I buy it. I stick to a brand if I am happy with the purchase over time and it proves reliable and well supported. I switch brands if I was not satisfied with the purchase for various reasons and I tend to black list a brand if I have issues. Its a lot like buying cars for me. If I had a good experience, I'll stick with the brand and buy from them again. This is loyalty that is earned. If it was not so great, I'll buy from someone else next time and not recommend it to anyone that asks.
You state above that you have not had issues with any of the makes and models you list above. What has caused you to switch brands and models so much? This buying behavior does not make sense to me.
The Note is really a phone and I had to give it up at as it was from work, we moved to Blackberry Z10's. I buy new gadgets more often then I buy bra's. I own a tablet for no more than 6 months, then sell it to purchase another. By doing this I can own 4 tablets for the price of one in a two year period. I don't really have any brand loyalty as I think most manufactures have good products, you just need to do the research before buying as you said. If one is bad it doesn't mean they are all bad, take Sony, the new Z tablet is actually pretty nice, it took a couple of tries but they've done it.

since you brought up the fact the you buy tablets more often the bras, maybe its appropriate to bring up an American saying:
"I have underwear older than you!"
I guess this means, I like to keep my HW as long as possible. Or until it has more holes than what is acceptable.
Indeed iPad has more and better apps but the cheapest mini has low resolution! I have the new iPad and enjoy the screen and honestly I don't use many of the apps. I know their value but many people will use it for reading mostly.
The new Nexus 7 should have very nice crisp text making reading eBooks and web enjoyable!
Can't beat the price and it's much better than Amazon's Fire.
That's what happens when you make cheap for the sake of cheap. No surprise here at all. It seems Android owners are accustomed to this sort of behavior and almost expect it.
Give it a break, mate.
I got iPad Mini for my mother a few months back. This was her 2nd iPad, having already original iPad.
Visiting her, I have noticed that on occasion new Mini is losing wifi connection once or twice a day, and it has to be re-establish manually after that. It is serviceable solution (going into settings and tapping on wifi connection), but darn annoying. Her old iPad and even older HP laptop don't have these problems on same wireless router.
Google for "ipad mini wireless dropping" or anything similar and see for yourself what I am talking about.
I could understand all that gloating have Apple products really been spotless. But beside this Mini wifi issue, my 3Gs has piss-poor reception, compared to much cheaper smart and feature phones. iP4 had questionable antenna design. One of iPads - was it 3, first with Retina? - was keen on overheating, much as I recall. And iMacs and MBs had their fair run of problems with screen discolouration and flickering, melting graphics, superdrives, HDD shock sensors. Such problems are nature of technology, especially early batches.
GTFO already!!!! I might understand someone recommending me Windows RT as it is really different that iOS and it could at some point in the distant future evolve into some sort of lower end competitor. Android on the other hand is complete and outer BS. It is not just the substandard quality of the OS but Google's criminal ethics. Anyone who recommends Android is either a RETARD, an Apple hating Psychopath or simply paid by Google!!!

I doubt he'll be here long. He doesn't follow forum rules well from what I've seen, and site management is enforcing them more effectively as of late. Just my 2 cents, and I don't pretend to be part of site management, but I don't think it will help you if you try to be the "enforcer". Let the mods handle it. If you think a post breaks forum rules then report it. It's that little red flag in the lower corner of the post box.

That one may be having issues, but neither of mine ever have problems with wifi, though both of mine are cellular models. Try forgetting the network and try again.
As for the iPad 3, there was never an "overheating problem" with them. They simply run warmer than the gen 2. The temps were said to be similar to Android tablets of similar size, not blazing hot. Sounds to me like you're just making up stuff as you go.
You are not giving android a chance. I recently purchased the new Nexus 7 and I LOVE IT. Before I used apple products myself. I wanted a 7 inch tablet, but the iPad Mini is WAY overpriced. I payed $270 for my 32gb Nexus 7, or I could have payed $430 for the iPad Mini. I made the switch for 3 reasons; the ridiculous price, I was getting tired of iOS, and android is a lot more open. iOS is so restrictive, it just felt the same old. With android, I can put customize the homescreen and lock screen, see what apps are running and kill them, and lot other stuff iOS can't do without jailbreaking. Some apple fans have reasons why iOS is better, but don't look at the pros of android. Y'all need to look at the pros and come of both operating systems, and stop giving android all this crap. I'm not saying android is better, I'm saying people don't consider it. Y'all need to consider both.
Laughable at best. If you paid $270, you could have paid $329. You don't need 32 GB of storage, you just think it's better (SPECS!). The first thing you mention as a "Pro" for Android is customizing the..._insert useless UI customization_., and your argument falls apart entirely. That is for kids, or people that don't have much sense of style or quality (people that just want to dick around). I've seen what people consider "customized", the thing that was essential to their purchase, and they have a bunch of peekachoo variants as their icon set...yeah, I grew bored of that 15 years ago playing around on my Mac. Grow up already.
Just furthering the point that people who buy Android do for 2 very clear and identifiable reasons.
1. Price
2. They couldn't tell you the difference if you paid them to.

Well most of the problems you mentioned are from previous version of Nexus 7, Also there has been a lot of bug fixes and improvements in the present OS the new Nexus Runs..
Being an ipad user for over couple of years now, I had a lots of apps crash on me and which has real bad designs I hated to use regularly and not to mention itunes which is a complete pain in the neck for iOS owners, Remember the maps app from Apple? One of the worst maps you could land on initially.
No product is perfect, that includes ipads and ipad minis, Apple has its own list of mistakes, in the end its all comes down to user preference and the way they use it.
If ipad mini suits you the best then its just fine though.. But your post just shows your biased opinion on Android Products in favour of Apple.
I am not an Android user BTW, I use mac for work and ipad is something I use everyday and I love it, but your post is just being unfair and giving lot of weight on Apple product claiming it is the best out there, I wont agree that honestly.
