The other thing too about this moron is that he really can't sue Tim Cook for an Apple iPhone problem.  Apple is a Corporation.  They are that for a good reason.  He can sue Apple but not individuals personally for corporate issues like iOS7.

This will be dumped by the court faster than you can Say Apple.

Since it's not on your phone I doubt that very much. The download doesn't, in my experience, start until you give permission for the action to start.

Given there are phones that can't run 7 out there it's possible they'll keep patching 6 for them. Can't say but they may. The real challenge may be as more and more of the app selection moves beyond being compatible with 6. That's what usually triggers a desktop OS upgrade for me: once the applications no longer like the legacy OS....

"This means that the automatically-downloaded installation file, which weighs in at more than one gigabyte and cannot be removed by the user, may decrease a device's available memory by up to fifteen percent with no way to recover the storage space. "

If you do a fresh install of iOS 6 without restore, you'll regain all your space. Then, set auto updates off and stop whining.

She asked me, a fervent Apple type, "Why did they disregard my answer?" I have no idea.

It's easy to criticize this guy in CA for going after Cook (they need an "attackable ombudsman!") but I remember the frustration Carol had... she finally got angry cuz she felt somebody didn't do enough testing and secondly, asked a question the answer to which, they ignored,

Can you explain how i'm still on iOS 6 cuz according to your story, it will ignore me if i say NO and its just plain NOT NICE.

    So how is this possible???

Updates are great, but the customer has the option to update or not.  They should have the option to download.

I am not updating to iOS7; personally, I think it is horrid to look at.  Many people like it and will install it  That is a personal choice.

My friend is not updating.  She has a health condition that is irritated by the motion and contrast and line sizes in iOS7.  That is not a personal choice; it is a medical need.  [Another friend with the same condition did update and now cannot use her phone.]

Both our phones show one update flag.  Cannot get rid of it.

Are we happy with this situation?  No.

Are we going to sue?  No.

Would we like Apple to care?  You bet.  (We wish they would fix iOS7)

Will they?  Not a chance.  They want everybody to update to 7.

Just wondering, would a backup and restore get rid of the iOS 7 update files?

Some people have this... "Install Now"... seems like already downloaded and taking up storage which Apple charges a lot for.

What an idiot.  He must also be 10 years old.  I guess he doesn't remember how Steve Jobs pissed people off by obsoleting technologies, interfaces, storage, etc. we all invested in- for the better I might add. Cook is not much different and most likely will maintain and grow the company.  I think this guy should get a Palm Pilot. I wouldn't give him the $50.

The funny thing is many people who hate Apple claimed they have a house full of Apple products.

Apple was sued by another California man who alleged that the Cupertino company secretly conspired with the Italian mafia to threaten him into becoming a fashion model.

    Really? Ahah that's great.

Same here. My Settings app continues to show that ridiculous red flag as if I were forced to "upgrade". No dismissal possible.

Of course this guy is probably too stupid to do that.  He sounds dumber than a box of rocks.

Do you really know what you're talking about or do you just want him to jailbreak his phone?

I noticed this also after I upgraded OVer The Air.

I backed up my phone to my Laptop later that week anf re-installed iOS 7 from iTunes and then restored the backup.

PRESTO- DELETO, the phone regained almost 2.5 gigabytes of space, conceivably the installer file and other files that were floating out there.

Did the same for my ipad mini with the same results.

Hang on, brlawyer said that this isn't possible.  Could really use some clarity over this issue - is it possible to download a pre-iOS7 ipsw file and restore an iPhone (pre-5S) to the earlier software using iTunes, or isn't it?

Has anyone here tried, and can say categorically if it is or isn't possible?

Yes you can, just one problem though; Apple servers don't sign it, so your phone isn't activated.

What I want to know, really useless weird thing: was it possible to install iOS6 on a 5s during those 4 days after 7 was released and they still were signing 6? Without jaibreaking, obviously.

Tell him to get an Android. Then he won't have any updates...
The usual fanboi misleading garbage... My little brother 2 years old Samsung Galaxy Nexus is receiving every OS updates on day 1 and is up-to-date, so please put your bold lie and generalization where it belongs, to the trash.
