Yeah. It is. We want Google dead. Stealing an entire OS isn’t how you drive innovation.

    So leave, then.

Every single person I know that uses an iPhone extensively uses Google services and apps. Your opinion is very biased and not representative at all of the general iPhone population. The stealing argument doesn't hold water anymore. Not after iOS7.

That's the beauty of Android. My Galaxy Nexus is already running a 4.4 ROM. Original Motorola Droid will get it soon too. 4 years of up to date! Anyone that bought the Galaxy Nexus (which was labeled as only a developer phone FYI) can easily get KitKat.

But, I do think it's BS that Google doesn't officially release the update. Poor showing. Fortunately, it really doesn't matter. Most ROMs updates often and automatically. It's all good.

At least some reports blame the TI chipset used for the Galaxy Nexus, one that's no longer in production or supported. No idea if there's any validity to it tho obviously 4.4 can be adapted for it.

I heard that. But the fact is my Galaxy Nexus is already running a ported 4.4 with no problems (yet). It's been 12 hours since the 4.4 code was released from Google. How hard could it really be for Google to support it if developers already have.

Really... stealing an ENTIRE OS?? Hmmmm... wasn't iOS built on BSD and Android on Linux?

To be fair TS didn't say Google "stole an entire OS". What he did say was if anyone were to steal an entire OS it isn't the way to drive innovation. I'll agree with that.

If that wasn't his insinuation I'll eat my hat... and yours too! :p

Good for you. Your anecdotes count for nothing. Drop your vendetta.

As long as the internet is free and this website allows "non-Apple" owners to post, then sorry bubba... people can come and post here ALL THEY WANT, and there is nothing you can do about it.

Except that’s completely and utterly wrong. This is a private forum, and users are bound by the rules thereof. It’s very disturbing that you think this is a public forum or that anyone can say anything they want. You should have more awareness of where you are.

You feel YOU can say whatever you want... this goes both ways Mr. Skil. I am guessing you were an only/spoiled child growing up and always got your own way?

Maybe if you lie down on the ground and kick and scream you will get what you want?? It used to work when you were a kid remember?

Got to love that off-contract pricing. $300 cheaper than Apple. I really like my iPhone, but assuming I get another phone for international travel, it doesn't make sense to pay the premium.

Dude, you're arguing with a crazy person. You can never win. Not matter how right you are.

Correction... I may never win, but I WILL make him look like an uneducated fool if it takes me a year... ;)

P.S. I have already proven in THIS thread - http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/156737/petition-about-the-trolls-on-ai#post_2428820 that his technical prowess leaves much to be desired.

Do you need to root your device to install a custom ROM? One shouldn't have to take advantage of security exploits just to get an updated OS.

No, you don't need to root to flash a ROM
