I didn't get up till 10:30 today. As soon as I could I headed over to apple.com to check ou the new tag line. as soon as I saw it, I came over to AI, I knew that that one must have created a stir here. Sure enough, I found 4 pages of messages, most posted between 3 and 4 o'clock in the morning. Wow, now I am excited! The last two teasers were cool, but pretty general, and didn't hold Apple to anything, this one though... This one sets a standard. Can't wait to see tomorrow's! And really can't wait till the 7th. I live about 45 minutes from the Westfarms store, think I might have to be heading over that direction on the 7th
BTW, hello to Apple's "watchers" we know you're out there
What if it isn't a G5...what if it isn't a GX at all. Maybe its going to be a totally new name for the Processor??? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
In recent weeks, haven't some rumor sites been saying no G5's (AtAt?). Maybe Apple means that they are wrong, and yes there are G5's. Low end 1 GHz, High end 1.6 GHz (dual across the board, super drive on all but low end).
All rumor sites have mentioned a flat screen iMac. So, to go beyond this the iMac has to have something big (a G4, DDR, ...). Low end 867 MHz, High end 1.2 GHz (dual across the board, super drive on top one)
Then the iDevice or iApp, I don't know of many rumor sites speculating on either, but then again I don't mean to sound like I have read every rumor site there is. I would bank more on an iDevice to be launced rather than an iApp.
Haven't there also been rumors about Apple and Nintendo with the GameCube....could be be seeing the re-entrance of the cbe, but with some new functionality...iCube
Man, this is so exciting. We here in Switzerland call it "chronisches Hodenrütteln". Hard to translate. And I better don't, else I'd get kicked from this board. :
4 days to Macworld San Francisco.
Less than 60% of you will survive until January 7. Way less.
You guys are all lining yourselves up to be completely disappointed. 2GHz G5's? A 1GHz iBook? Come on people. Even if Apple is trying to hype an event, it still doesn't mean they are going to dump all of their business knowledge down the drain to give the customers some magical product that doesn't exist. Think logically here.
The G5, according to everything we've heard, is not found in good enough yields above 1.6GHz. Therefore, the best we can hope for in an announcement is 1.4GHz. I personally doubt they will even release a G5 because they probably have a perfectly good 7460 waiting to be released at just above the GHz barrier. The iBooks and TiBooks won't be updated, and if they are, it will be a small MHz boost...like maybe 650MHz, maybe 700. Possibly an HD bump as well, but very unlikely.
The iMac is a given...15"LCD and a 800, (maybe) 900MHz at best. G3 for sure. The G3 is old, but as we all know Apple will milk it's stuff for all it's worth. The G3 still has life in it, and so does the G4.
Just because Apple puts some words on their website to get people interested in MWSF doesn't mean we're gonna get even more than already sky-high expectations.
Back... and jeeez... what an announcement from Apple.
Do you know why? Remember when during MW Paris in 2000 when there was a group of 'dissillusioned' Mac people that said they werent getting enough attention and that it was, rightly so, Mac enthusiats that kept Apple alive for so many years and we never got any recognition? They were going to interrupt the Keynote and if one got sacked, another one would continue from where the other left off, etc.
Well, I think this is a way for Apple to say "Hi guys (and gals), this is dedicated to you and we are watching, and keep the spirit alive".
At least that is my interpretation for why they wrote such a thing.

PS: iBook rev. C, 133Mhz bus, 733Mhz G3 processor... and maybe 16MB DDR ATI graphics. Muahahahahahahahahah
The return of the cube. Way beyond the rumor sites, way beyond.
"This thing is super revolutionary. If you have a heart condition you might want to step out of the room and take some deep breaths before you view our insanely world-changing new product... the flower power iMac! REVOLUTION!"
I swear, there should be some kind of drinking game during the keynote where you have to take a shot every time Jobs says "revolutionary".

I say we just have throw the pie at Steve game. Can you imagine the revenue on that one? Apple would make tons.

Below rumours is always easy. A reintroduction of the LCII then?

I think this is directly pointed at US.
Shout outs to my dogg Steve. Hope you read my e-mail.

Hey, am I the only one who thinks Apple will post a slogan or hint on ALL of apple.com the day before MWSF like they did for the first iMac?
You're on!
Apple France a envoyé une bien étrange invitation aux journalistes français.
Le message est le suivant : "Apple a plaisir de vous convier au vernissage de sa nouvelle oeuvre au Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris"
