I was paraphrasing just as you were. Steve Jobs made his "we didn't enter the search business" comment in Jan/2010 and could have factually added "but we are entering the ad business" by approaching AdMob in the middle of 2009, about the same time as Schmidt was contemplating resigning from Apple's board.
