Hey mother****ers! I bought the iMac with my own god damned earned money! I had to WORK for this and that is part of the reason for me being so pissed.
If my dad bought it for me I wouldnt be all up in arms over the shipping time, I would be all, "Hey I know its coming so I am on a Cube so what."
But I with my own money, I know the value of money and I could tell that the iMac was worth it. Now I am not even sure I am going to get it.

I thiught I was being annoying because I was whining when I had no reason too? Now you have no reason to call me a whiner when I did indeed buy my own iMac.
I really don't think 1799+ is worth it for that iMac.. especially if it's your hard earned money. If I were you, I would get a car instead (you are about that age, no?). Cars get girls more than iMacs

Why don't you start calling around to the catalog resellers and see if someone has the iMac. It will definitely be cheaper than your education discount with the free ram and no tax.

I just wish this whole thread would disappear. I've spent way too much time reading it (I know I have no one to blame but myself). Enough about Macintosh's iMac.
On the issue of why it wasn't shipped: If you gave Apple the wrong number for your credit card, you were pushed to the bottom of the line until you cleared it up. It's how things are done in the real world. You can't get anything held for you if you say, "I promise I'll pay for it." That's the reason it's taking so long. And, no, your shipping cost should not be reimbursed or refunded. That's what happens. Take it as a lesson to be more careful when you order things.
if it bothers you so much about how long it's taking, cancel your order. if you're pissed off at apple, show them with your wallet.
believe it or not, they probably don't care what you write in the AI forums.
if you want an iMac that badly, then at this point in time you'll have to wait. if you don't want to wait, you can't get an iMac. it's that simple.
there is NOTHING you can do about the time frame here.
along the same lines, there is nothing the other memebers at AI can do about your iMac delay. in fact, some might go so far as to say that they don't care either.
so, in conclusion.
1. iMac ASAP = delay from the time of purchase.
2. if delay > satisfaction of getting iMac ASAP, cancel order.
3. if delay is < satisfaction of getting iMac ASAP, leave the order alone.
4. if delay = satisfaction, flip a coin.
all other points are moot, and complaining does nothing to change the first four.
