Except they’re explicitly scheduling it against Apple’s announcements.
Yeah, Tallest I really don't think so in this case. The first Note Was released in September of 2011, that year the iPhone was released in June. Next year, the Note 2 was released 1 day before September on August 29th, 2012, the iPhone September 20th. The same with the Note 3, September, 2013 and iPhone 5. Here's the thing though, prior to 2012, Apple had released the iPhone in June, July and April. If you look at Samsung dating back to 2000, they have traditionally used September as a release month. It's Apple that has tredded on Samsung's release month not the other way around, just saying. Check out the dates yourself.
Wow such passionate defending of Samsung by some of you. Not mentioning names but you know who you are.
Correcting misconceptions doesn't a Samsung defender make. [@]Mazda 3s[/@] took the time to look up the announcement dates, and he's certainly not a Samsung apologist.
Right! Exactly what I said! Take everything out of context, quote only part of my statement, and ignore the FACT that Samsung was announcing on this schedule BEFORE Apple.
Guess you forgot when the iPhone 4S was released.
Seriously, I love Apple… …but…
Have an actual argument, please.
YOU should inform youself a little before making knee-jerk, fanboy, sheeple statements.
You mean like the ones you’re making? I’ve made none.
Why do you think that Apple making announcements in a month that Samsung was already using…
Except they weren’t already using it.
And please, form a well-reasoned opinion before you reply.
Can’t see why anyone would do that when you haven’t.

The first Note was announced on September 1, 2011, before that year iPhones were announced on June, so the iPhone should have been not only announced by then but already selling for at least 2 months, but the iPhone 4S wasn't announced until October 4, 2011. Samsung is only following the launch cycle they've set for their Note line of smartphones.

Man, whoever said that people have short memories wasn’t kidding. I guess you’ve all forgotten that it wasn’t just this year that we’ve had iPhone launch predictions. My stars.
Just a sampling of rumors from SPRING and summer of that year.
Oh hehe, I was looking at the iPhone4 release, whooopsy. Point still stands though, prior to 2011 release dates were usually in Quarter 2 of the year for the iPhone. Samsung has traditionally used September as a release month.

Ok, those were rumors, and the SGS 2 started selling in May 2011, Samsung wasn't going to release another phone at the same time, plus I'm sure that they wanted to take advantage of the holiday quarter.

No one has forgotten, 2011 - now the iPhone has been released in September, I'm just saying it was Apple who changed their release date from Q2 to Q3. Samsung was already at Q3 when Apple moved, that's all, nothing else, sorry to bother you, go back to slaying your enemies.

It’s all that morphine. No worries.

Why? They release, what, two dozen phones a year? The Note is a new line–if memory serves–unrelated to the S line and for a different category of people.

Ah, but again, it was the first Note model that got the fall release.
And you want to use unsubstantiated rumors as concrete proof that Samsung deliberately changed the announcement day of a device? There's no shortage of things Samsung copied from Apple, but it's really stretching it to say that this is one of them.
I want to use Samsung’s insider knowledge of Apple release dates to do that.
Conventional wisdom would state that it's a bad idea to release a product around the same time as a competitor. I think Samsung took a big gamble making a device so big. I personally thought that it would fail for sure, so I'm quite shocked at how popular it's become especially with women.

iPhone 4S: October 2011
iPhone 5: September 2012
iPhone 5S: September 2013

And as usual nobody will pay attention to what Samsung does. Apple's press event will be of primary interest from everyone though.

Yes, thank you, no one is denying that. We're just debating something stupid right now, nothing to see, move on.

Which is part of why they’ve failed so horribly.
Came up snake eyes.
Your thoughts don’t betray you.
Sold ten units when you figured it would have sold five, eh?

No, he's right. The things are everywhere. Like he said, mostly women.
I thought it was too big to appeal to many users (even though I would go for something that big myself), but I was wrong.
And I was being overly generous.
