    I doubt you'll find any. It seems more about having an option to do something that is different and than doing it for a well considered utility. The engineers probably left usability up to the PR guys.

    They did it so they can scream that they did it first without usability and functionality in mind. I still don't understand that about Samsung and these other companies. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something.

    Okay I've rethought this and come up with what, for me anyway, would be a problem. I grasp smaller devices such as my iPhones by the edges to get the steadiest grip, with one edge being an active control surface that's just out.

     

    For an iPad Air sized device okay, but that's not what they're offering.

    Definitely are announcements to cool the Apple excitement a bit.

    I also find it more than a coincidence this came at the same time as the Apple iCloud hacking news.   Very suspicious.

    So people can see what you're doing? Apple has a patent similar to this for buttons, I wonder if Samsung has made this similar to Apples patent.
