DO NOT UPDATE - it breaks phone service and TouchID
  • Reply 22 of 100

I updated as well on AT&T and have no signal.. just says searching. Resetting network settings did not do a thing. TouchID also does not work.

I think there is a problem. I'm on Verizon and now have no service ever since I updated my phone.

Same here - no TouchID either

I'm just going to wait for my iPhone 6 Plus to arrive between October 21-28th to use iOS 8. My 5s is still on 7.1.2 as I'm jailbroken and don't want to lose my jailbreak.

According to comments on MacRumors, this update is breaking Touch ID and cell service for a majority of people. I would hold off for now if you're about to update.

Yes lots of users on MacRumors are having this issue. I'm sure it's all over Twitter too. How do they let the release like that go out in the first place?

Apple already dispatched this to carriers and selected partners a week or so before official release of iOS 8, for final testing , so it's good they were able to progress it without much delay.

But to think all this happened in the last 5 days is a fantasy.

Is it iphone or ipad  where you experience safari freezing effect because my wife's iphone 4s has no issues according to her.

If you're talking to me, it's my iPad, because I don't usually type posts into my iPhone. Maybe if I get the 6+, that will change.

Beginning page 3, shortly after the update became available. Yes, LOTS of comments about no service. This update maybe needed a tad more testing...

I force restarted and haven't had a problem since.

I haven't tried that. But, now I'm downloading the updates for my phone and tablet, so we'll see what happens.

By the way, now that Apple is serving updates through their own servers, speeds have been impossible.
