I will say, they seem to be cutting it CRAZY close with all of this. All map updates pushed off, Health stuff not working, problems with extension signing, publishing an update and then pulling it after it's already out... I bet it's been all-nighters in Cupertino for awhile now.
... But whatever it is, I'm waiting for a new one.
Good thing I was actually working at work so didn't jump on the update. So, who was at work and not working upgrading their phone and got in a mess????
Again it is good to have patients, and not be one of those people who must have it now. I hope some of you learned not to push the update but when it shows up immediately.
Patience. Unless you are a doctor, in which case, yes, it is good to have patients.
Too little too late. I was so frustrated and harmed by these fatal flaws that I sold the 3 iPhone 6 Pluses that I bought and I'll never buy another Apple device. This never would have happened if Steve were still around. I have been an Apple user since 1968 and own $10,000,000 in AAPL stock so I don't make this decision lightly. Oh, and 2 of my phones snapped in half when I put them in my shirt pocket.

The original Apple Computer, also known retroactively as the Apple I, or Apple-1 was released by the Apple Computer Company (now Apple Inc.) in 1976. They were designed and hand-built by Steve Wozniak. Wozniak's friend Steve Jobs had the idea of selling the computer.

A major problem is the decision to couple hardware and software release cycles. That causes software to be cut early. Then the update is rushed.
So. Dearest Apple. I know you watch these forums. Or fora if you are a Latin scholar.
When you release the iPhone put iOS X.n on it. Where X is the present release for everybody. Where the .n adds the new functionality for that phone if needed. Then spend a month on iOS Y. Y is 1 major release greater than X which also contains the stuff in X.n. Test the bejesus of that and release when ready.
I bow my ahead to Apple to release fixes release so quick. More power to you Apple and you F*** moron Android phone manufacturers, learn something from Apple. I am on not even 2 years old LG optimus G e970 AT&T 4.7" large screen smartphone and what I received is pathetic old jellybean update and not even current kitkat(not expected) so forget about "L" updates.
*ROTFL*. And just what do you suggest the moron Android phone manufacturers should learn from Apple .. Certainly not QA, and I'm not really convinced that they want to know new ways to F up their brand new flagship devices less than a week after they go on the market :-)
Like many software update/releases, Apple send it first to the developer community for testing, reporting bugs, fixing before making it public release. Not sure, why not this time ?
First day IOS 8 came out, I installed it on iphone 4s and seems functioning fine.
Anyone having iTunes library syncing problems? Since I installed iOS8 my iPhone 5 doesn't sync my music, or at most it will sync a handful of syncs. It just quits out every time I try - very frustrating. You'd think Apple would run thorough QA and testing for everything before pushing out to public.
Really? 1968? Eight years before Apple started? Who are you Marty McFly?

Result. Misery.

The update really downloaded fast and ...
... maybe it was too fast.

Phew! Thanks internets. I dodged that bullet.

WHY, WHY, WHY are Apple making so many mistakes now?????
What are the 'so many' mistakes are you are referring to?

So it turns out there's a connection between the flawed 8.0.1 update and last years maps fiasco. They had the same QC manager at the helm.

Is there a connection between him and any three-letter government agencies?
