Sorry but I think outside of, maybe, at Starbucks people aren't going to be using an iPad to pay for anything. When I'm at the grocery store or drug store I have my phone on me, not my iPad. I'd be curious to know how frequently someone has their iPad with them but not their phone. Oh and I think Apple spending so much time on the camera during the iPad keynote means they either are at a loss with where to take iPad or need help pulling together better keynotes. With such a powerful chip in the iPad the last thing I'd be talking about is the camera.
Easy. Normal consumers (non techies) care about cameras in a way they don't about processors. Because they use the camera directly and equate it with their lives directly (photos/memories). It will always be weighted over processor when presenting.
Shame they couldn't do it with the iPhone 6. I look forward to next year's iteration, when they revert to a flush lens after the LensGate backlash.
I'm know you're just a bored lonely troll sitting in his underwear all day, but nope. There is no lens issue (appending "gate" to anything you don't like is idiotic). I never use my phone flush on its back on a table, but I tried it and it doesn't rock, unless you tap top left and only then very, very slightly. But that's moot a second time because there's no reason to tap there with the new left-edge swipe. And it's moot a third time because I use a case, like most people I see.
although Rite-Aide and CVS won't be offering ?Pay for the foreseeable future in favour of their own solution at some later time. I wonder how long that will last.
?Pay is a novelty at this point. Only die hard Apple fans would boycott a store because they didn't offer it. Everyone is still carrying their credit cards. You would have to make a lot of compromises in your lifestyle if you only shopped where ?Pay was available. Personally I think that new Merchant group is spinning their wheels at this point, but disabling NFC probably won't impact their bottom line.
The tipping point for ?Pay will be when Kroger family of grocery stores adopts it.
And people still carry cash, does that mean the magnetic strip paymebnt system is therefore a novelty?
NFC probably won't impact their bottom line.
And yet they are spending the time and effort to disable all their NFC ubt they can implement their own? When something has no impact it won't even register, which is why Google Wallet never caused their NFC terminals to be disconnected before despite a contamract for a competing service that will help them capture more user data. M
I read that CVS and Rite-Aid have disabled NFC and now refuse ?Pay, because they're bringing out their own crappy payment system sometime next year that is doomed to fail and that nobody will want to use?!
Well this means war!
Those companies must now be destroyed! How stupid are stores for refusing to take payments? It's like they don't wish to make any money or to sell any goods. I bet they're also upset about not being able to harvest customer data anymore! They can go and screw themselves with a giant pitchfork!
Apple users should walk into a CVS or Rite-Aid, pile up a bunch of items in their cart, and then go to pay. When they get told that "sorry, we do not accept ApplePay", then the customers should just walk right out, leaving all of their items on the counter!
There's a bunch of pharmacies that I can use, and they're all close by.
Businesses that discriminate against Apple users will not be getting my business, especially when there are plenty of other alternatives!
No because credit cards have been around since the 1940s
Ah, you're using novelty to mean new, not a mostly pointless feature with fleeting amusement. The latter is how I most often see that term used with CE features.
Yes, ?Pay is new, but it's a raging success even before it launched.
I can confirm that the S5 sensor is lousy, I saw a guy once, not knowing I was watching, have to swipe five times before it recognized him. The first two times I don't even think the phone realized what the user was doing.
Personally, I'm happy because my credit union put out a letter a few days ago saying that ApplePay support is coming soon. Considering they're a small CU with four branches, that was a bit unexpected.
The interesting thing about human beings is that they have this incredible propensity to be in denial about so many things
Your story about the Android user is typical of such behavior. Once someone has made an expensive purchase, they naturally emphasize the positives and minimize the negatives. It makes them feel good about their purchases. The fact that so many fanboys on either side are so insecure about it is interesting. How many times for instance have you heard someone bragging about the money they made on a recent stock purchase and how savvy they are? What you didn't hear was all the stocks they bought that lost them money. Same thing with smart phones. Android fanboys are never going to admit their early adopter NFC feature doesn't work very well. Naturally they are either going to gloss over its deficiencies or try to divert it to all the other so-called advantages of Android. Similarly iPhone fanboys are going to gloss over Siri's less than stellar results as compared with Google's offering. No device is "Better" than another in all categories. It's simply a question of which you like personally. But lets not fool ourselves into believing the hype that one is inherently superior to another. Its JUST a cell phone . Now go get laid people.

You realize you ARE very angry and quite insane yes? I wonder why you are that way? Probably because you are not in control of your life. I'd get help if I were you

Hey, give these trolls a break, they have to keep their post count up somehow, and Apple isn't doing much wrong at the moment.

And who wants to be "normal" anyway?
Normal is average. Normal is boring. I am above average.
Then you should try making a fair balance comment that isn't filled with sophomoric emotions. That would be unusual for you.
Been reading many iPad Air 2 reviews and found that many reviewers are noobs who are probably not qualified to review in the first place.
Was shock to hear some saying the fingerprint for Touch ID is orientation dependent and how they found it awkward to have to turn the iPad vertical and use their thumb to unlock at a certain angle.
Since iPhone 5s, I have known there is no orientation involved. I could turn my finger 360 degree and still unlock via Touch ID.
The iPad Air 2, with A8X being a beast and a higher resolution scanning Touch ID, is even better at the operation. I just hold my iPad Air 2 horizontal (doesn't matter which side up) and use my left or right thumb to unlock and it always work.
No because credit cards have been around since the 1940s
You're fighting a lost cause. Is it delusion or cognitive dissonance with that one? Believes he always right yet cowardly won't back up his claims with factual substance.
You can read about this in some of the reviews. Previously iPad Air screen was something like 3 separate components (glass, touch sensor and LCD panels I think) with gaps in-between. With iPad Air 2 the screen is optically bonded in 1 piece like the iphone. The image is now closer to the glass surface and without the gaps in-between, the image appears to be of higher contrast and more immediate.
Personally, I think the less-glare and lamination help. I find the black to be more black as well.
If you put an iPad Air and iPad Air 2 side-by-side it is quite obvious, especially if you are comparing high res photos and game images.
Cool I will check this out tomorrow and maybe just maybe.......

Much like your posts.

I am not fair & balanced! I am no such thing, and I have never claimed to be. I am what I am.
Hence my comment about you doing something unusual.
