Well, except for that insignificant portion below the equator...oh, wait...

Ok so one of three ... got it. image

Actually that could even be a new definition of parallelistic ... all three are on the same parallel! (Give or take ... image)

Thank you both for parsing the lexiprose and cons...:D

Those pesky company lines. Apple's using such great materials for its lines these days, pretty much a V-8 minimum is required for towing. I remember 5-10 years ago, just about anyone could tow the Apple company line. No longer. I wouldn't feel confident without an F-250, or maybe a Dodge Ram.

Knowing your English is important in any civilized discourse but knowing your geography is importanter.

He was asked the cause of the issue, and he fucking stated what that was. What the hell is it you want, exactly? How is he passing blame? I'm pretty damn sure he knows that Apple is also responsible for the distribution. Yet people are pretending as he's blaming another company. Jesus Christ.

To clarify, are you asking Joswiak to die? No really, elaborate.

What a filthy coward you are.

No, no, you misunderstood. He just had a revelation and final clarity on what he has to do. He wasn't talking about Joswiak.

Joswiak still sounds to me like an invented name that is a combination of 'Jobs' and 'Wozniak'.

I knew it sounded familiar. I don't like his new haircut.

    1000

    1000

He needs to go see whoever Federighi's seeing.

So it sounds like the delta OTA update was missing a binary or two. A corrupted zip file would be rejected by the phone.

Apple's software quality is definitely in decline though.

Greg "Joz" Joswiak mostly towed the company line.

Yes, I also wish they’d slow down a bit with new releases (having said that I do think iOS for iPad is badly in need of multi-user support and side-by-side multitasking apps).

My hope is that the full UI redesign of both iOS and OS X, and development of the new programming language were all big distractions for Apple. Now those are complete hopefully things will settle down. Let’s also not forget the major distraction of the new campus. Once that is finished and they are settled in, I hope that we will see further improvements in the quality of Apple’s output.

    Ah, I get it!

You know, when you are doing "advanced things", it's totally ok to screw up.

    Seriously... what an idiot.

What are you even trying to say?

So, basically, someone at Apple pushed the wrong files to the live servers...  And all these while I thought Apple engineers just forgot to check their code.

I thought it was clear. He is saying that “doing advanced things” (Joswiak quote) is not a valid excuse for fucking up. Apple fucked up the 8.0.1 update. It doesn't matter how they fucked it up - they still fucked it up when they shouldn’t have. Apple should have robust checks in place that prevent these sorts of things from happening.

You are quite correct - I should have said "parallelogrammatical"...

Oh good. Give them a year or two to settle in to their new digs, and we've only got, what...a four year wait for stable software.

    I’ll put the kettle on.
